  1. Review - FastStone Image Viewer

    4.6 (May 19, 2012)

Probably the easiest hands down reliable image view and editor that I've ever used. Yes it has a single con. It only handles english filenames. Which is a major pain if some files have non english character. Overall, I have Paint Shop Pro 11, major memory hog. Even on a 64bit machine with 8gb of Corsair ram. FastStone? why is this free again? Oh I bet it's because nobody answers the email.. hey if it's free and it works the way most should. I really don't care. not many are going to deal with Russian letters anyway. And if you have google earth installed, the metadata here is excellent. (or just notifies others to make sure their GPS is off before taken the photo. I don't care :P, but some celebs do and oops) windows should require it instead of their gallery which is just useless.

  2. Review - Yahoo! Messenger for Windows

    11.5.0.192 (Mar 29, 2012)

Latest version they had me download this week really stinks. :( Thought I had this version but said I had to update. And it keeps giving me the signed into to places window. ruining conversations.

  3. Review - K-Lite Codec Pack Full

    7.1.0 (Apr 16, 2011)

Haven't tried anything lower than Full. Tried Mega no improvement. Only reason I use this is for the thumbnail generation. Version 6 was alright until a windows update broke it. Version 7 is back to the old Windows Explorer has stopped working. And 70 % of the thumbs are left blank now. Hope the patch fixes it. But Version 7 hate it.

  4. Review - Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack

    1 (Feb 22, 2011)

Might have to try the ISO... update keeps failing.... Microsoft forgot how to deal with a simple SP1.. sheesh

  5. Review - Microsoft .NET Framework (v3.0)

    3.0 Service Pack 1 (Aug 11, 2008)

Tried to install this 3.0 SP1. Says 3.0 SP1 is incompatible with Vista. So I assume thats an XP only release. 3.5 is installing though.

  6. Comment - Browser blowout: Which is fastest, most standards compliant [benchmarks]?

    3.0 Service Pack 1 (Jul 22, 2011 - 5:52 PM)

html5 test puts Opera at second place not third. o_O and as much as I love opera. is always bad in memory management. although certainly better no at 500mb, used to near 1.5 gb

  7. Comment - LulzSec livetweets attack on Rupert Murdoch's news empire

    3.0 Service Pack 1 (Jul 19, 2011 - 4:36 PM)

actually that word tends to mean something done to make a person look silly. I don't think what Rupert did was funny. Tell that to the London Bombing victims and the 9/11 victims and the 13 yr old who was found dead. So in this case Lulzsec is fully justified to pull a revenge is a dish best served cold (it is very cold in space) oh sorry. wrong movie.....

  8. Comment - Netflix users revolt over price increases [poll]

    3.0 Service Pack 1 (Jul 17, 2011 - 9:46 PM)

must say while netflix increases prices I end up at gog*com and they have this nice sale on older games where I can download older games (and one new one witcher 2, full price) but most are $10 or less. Enclave $2.39 today. Think I can download that faster than streaming a netflix movie. What netflix should do is provide say movie for a 1 day window and away I go. I'd pay extra for that. But stream? Unless I have Roku or a cell phone there's no reason for the $8 price tag....

  9. Comment - Nearly 60% of Netflix customers plan to close their accounts [poll results]

    3.0 Service Pack 1 (Jul 14, 2011 - 4:36 AM)

Thats true. It's assuming no one rents blu rays. Very annoying.

  10. Comment - Nearly 60% of Netflix customers plan to close their accounts [poll results]

    3.0 Service Pack 1 (Jul 14, 2011 - 4:35 AM)

Right now the folks making beer are worried in MN. Right now the folks making micro brews and own a bar at the same time are worried in WI. not sure they'll notice $3 I just won't go over $20 right now. (actually in WI alot of Coors is going down the drain in the street :P ) but it's paid for so Coors couldn't care less. but in MN thats a problem.
