  1. Review - ICQ

    2002a Beta v5.33 Build #3722 (Mar 25, 2002)

As predicted, ICQ has gone downhill since the AOL purchase. I find each year worse than the previous (since AOL bought it that is.) Sure 2002 goes to the systray, but if I have ICQ open, I don't want it sitting in the taskbar. It's still my fav chat program for now, but I guessing eventually AOL will ruin it so much, I'll just dump it and find something better... I wish a company would make something identical to ICQ without all the BS. Especially those banners, grrr....

  2. Review - The Ultimate Cheat List!

    XP Beta 1 (Mar 4, 2002)

I love the idea behind it, but the interface needs some clean up, and it also needs to run more smoothly... keeping in mind it's still the 1st beta. Keep up the work, this is very useful freeware:)

  3. Review - nVIDIA GeForce Drivers for Windows

    23.12 (Jan 20, 2002)

Yeah, 23.11 is the latest. Hence why they're so crappy, they're not official(ly done?)

  4. Review - nVIDIA GeForce Drivers for Windows

    23.11 Official (Dec 3, 2001)

For anyone who needs Voodoo 5 5500 drivers for XP, I finally got some that work. They're unstable though, Counter-Strike doesn't seem to like it, makes the PC reboot sometimes, but all the other games I've tried haven't. Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament, etc. nVidia are b****es for buying out 3DFX then not making new drivers. Now they're offering this cheap deal, get $20-30 off on trading in your 3DFX card... and you can't even put that towards any card, it's some specifically chosen card. I paid a lot more for my Voodoo 5 than $20-30!!!!! nVidia make great cards, but that pissed me off that they did that. If you want those Voodoo drivers, ICQ me @ 9255880

  5. Review - Access Denied

    3.20 Pre-Release (Nov 15, 2001)

It's beta, so it must have some bugs, but why did BetaNews give it such a low mark? Access Denied is great for w9x/2k. And when xp is cracked (if it becomes easy,)access denied will be useful on it too...

  6. Comment - USB 2.0 Drivers for Windows XP Now Available

    3.20 Pre-Release (Feb 6, 2002 - 1:49 PM)

Sure beats the old USB 1.1 speeds... but I think manufactures should have adopted firewire a while ago cuz its been out a while and it was much faster than USB 1.1. But I guess Apple owned it or something so they couldn't?

Anyhow, 480mbps is sweet, my Dell won't even reach those speeds, hehe

  7. Comment - AOL Looking to Acquire Red Hat

    3.20 Pre-Release (Jan 19, 2002 - 7:17 AM)

I agree that if AOL purchases Red Hat, it's going to go downhill. I've never liked AOL Instant Messenger, and when AOL bought ICQ, it was only a matter of time before the banners showed up and all the crappy AutoUpdates... ICQ is still my fam IM, but it's not neither as good as it would have been if Mirabilis still owned it.

Mac's on the other hand I think are still great Machines/OS'. I'd still probably buy a PC cuz I've always had one, but remember on a mac you can still run any windows OS, games, programs, etc with their emu software.

As for Microsoft, I think their first REAL OS was XP. That's how an operating system should be; not crashing all the time like 98se. I still dual boot 98se jsut for gaming, but for everything else, it's XP. Microsoft did a good job on hotmail... just wish it didn't get so much damn spam, but I guess that's due to its popularity.

  8. Comment - Windows XP Unveiled in New York

    3.20 Pre-Release (Oct 27, 2001 - 2:44 AM)

When people buy their computer (not build them,) they still have the choice of what the computer comes with, software, -->OS

  9. Comment - Windows XP Unveiled in New York

    3.20 Pre-Release (Oct 27, 2001 - 2:40 AM)

I tried XP on my old machine, P200mmx, 64sdram, but that was too slow. It ran, but the lack of ram ruin the "experience" greatly. Under 128sdram on my PIII 600 though, it's beautiful, piece of art:) And I agree with something someone else wrote, this IS what an OS should be, none of that f*cking crashing 2-4/7. Though XP still has issues, it's much greater than Millenium Edition!! And I don't think it's just covered with fancy skins, it's more like 9x mixed with 2000... great OS:) The more ram the better too with it...

  10. Comment - BetaNews Summer Giveaway

    3.20 Pre-Release (Jul 25, 2001 - 6:21 AM)

A legit copy of Windows XP would be sweet :) Hope I win, hehe
That's really cool of BetaNews to be giving away free stuff... but a lot of ppl support this site, and help all they can, so I'm sure they deserve it. Anyhow, good luck to everyone.
