I hear non stop how terrible an application this is, but actually spending about 48 hours last week spending time revamping my music library (fixing odd names, misclassified music, and the like) I have to say, I'm really impressed with how well it works. It IS a large, heavy piece of software, but the way everything is designed, it works perfectly with Apple devices, and the App and Music stores are both integrated very well.
I'd say avoid this if you have a slow or older computer, but on my current system, it's fast and responsive.
7.04 "Feisty Fawn" Beta (Mar 23, 2007)
Having used Ubuntu since it first came into being, and followed it since, the constant work and improvement is amazing - easily the best Linux Distro out there.
Despite bring simplified, which is a plus for non tech users, it's also a VERY solid Debian implementation that has all the features of Debian, with a quick and easy install - along with some of the best update and customization features of any system.
Kudos for the Ubuntu people for putting out a system that simply blows everyone else out of the water, and is far better for both beginners and pros than anything either Red Hat or Mandrake have done.
1.0.6 (Jul 19, 2005)
As always, fast, lightweight, reliable, and the best rendering available from any web browser.
1.1 Alpha 1 (Jun 1, 2005)
Atfer using this for a few days (pre alpha builds and the current builds) all I can say is fantastic.
There are glitches and bugs that could cause some unpleasant experiences, so unless you like being on the cutting edge, and don't mind risks, don't use it... but if you're like me, and would rather get a look at the next generation, don't mind the occasional bump in the road, and are willing to troubleshoot a system when problems arise - go for it. It's an excellent preview of a very promising product :)
1.2.3 (Apr 14, 2005)
Getting better... but it's still using a crippled rendering engine. Maybe it'll improve with IE7.

you can downvote me on this all you like, but the fact is, I based my statement on fact, not on opinion - I like IE9, and I even use it sometimes, it's a decent browser all around... but it IS still lacking in a lot of areas. I'll stand by "a step in the right direction, but not quite there"
1.2.3 (Mar 28, 2011 - 7:11 PM)
this is simply incorrect - IE9 is still years behind ALL other browsers, especially Mozilla or Webkit in support of standards. Yes, it's a massive improvement on IE8, which was an improvement on IE7, but it still can't hold a candle to any of the open source browsers - maybe by IE11 if they keep things going at this pace.
1.2.3 (Jan 8, 2011 - 9:48 PM)
I think he's saying that Apple didn't care to announce it, not that it didn't happen - Apple is more about announcing products, not who carries the service for them... ALL major carriers in Canada carry the iPhone, but there's never any announcements about that, just when a new product becomes available
1.2.3 (Dec 24, 2010 - 3:15 AM)
yeah, my PC is nothing special, and FF4b8 loads in under 2 seconds - b6 took about 15, and b7 was 4 or 5... they've done pretty well with improving performance build to build.
it's not as light as it used to be, but there's nothing slack about it, and they're clearly working hard to get it in shape before they move on to a RC
1.2.3 (Apr 7, 2010 - 6:25 PM)
Oddly, I don't see a need to rush this one... MS finally released an OS that doesn't require a service pack to be operational on a proper level... the only somewhat substantial feature they're adding won't make a difference until the service pack for 2008 R2 is released (and installed), and only if you use it in the first place.
