WeatherFreak - Instead of leaving bad feedback and bashing the program, why not explain to me EXACTLY what you are doing and the specific error message, if any. I cannot help you if all you are going to do is complain. If you don't like the program, then use something else and stop stalking my program with negative feedback. It's unwarranted and uncalled for. If you think you can do better, then by all means, please do so. There are hundreds of other users who are not experiencing crashes, so chances are the problem lies someplace on the computer, but unless you are willing to explain your claim in more detail, you have no real claim here. For all I know you are just a competitor spewing lies. So either take my offer to help, or go away.

Don't worry about it your honor. Some folks have nothing better to do than to criticize. I don't take it personally. Most people do not know that the original WeatherMan I wrote back in 2000 was very different than this one, and this rewrite is still in it's infancy and has problems, hence still a "beta" app. Granted, feedback is supposed to be constructive...but what can you do. It's easy for someone to say "it does not work, it sucks", it's hard for someone to actually relay to me exactly what they did to get the error so that it would be easier for me to track the problem down and fix it. I do not use dialup (or Windows 98) and because of this there are issues poping up I did not see in testing for those with slower connections. I am a one man show and don't have seven networked computers each with a different OS. If that earns me low ratings, then "oh well", there is more to life. My Mom was good enough to let me use her dialup account so I could track these little buggers down and fix them. :o)
Anyways, thanks for your support Judge, I have always appreciated your time and support.
Folks, I do have a BBS (www.tpasoft.com/bbs) and although it's not really finished, it's still useable. Leave me detailed info there and be a help, not a hinderance.

dluxx - I've since released an update which fixes all those buggers you are talking about. Hopefully BN will release it soon.

Actually, I wrote the program, and to address your obvious concerns: WeatherMan follows the Weather.com SDK to the letter and has been approved by the appropriate people. I cannot think of any other developer who can claim this (please correct me if I am wrong). It was writen in VB6, not 3 and I think my interfaces are unique...better than the standard, boring web browser interface, which cleary take real skills to use. Interesting to see 3 "1" votes. Sounds like somebody cannot handle a little competition. :-) As for the other commentor, no I do not plan to impliment "skins". Such a feature is considered by many professional programmers to be what one would use when they do not have the knowledge necessary to write a real interface and is usually a last ditch effort to "look cool". Seriously, how much skill does it require to drop in an ActiveX control and point to an image file? Answer: None. I could do an optional tiling background image perhaps, but nothing so visually lame as skins. They are ugly anyway, IMHO.
- Update
I had my lawyer run a trademark search on "WeatherMan" (shortedned from Weather Manager) and none turned up. Sorry to disappoint you. Any reason you are looking for opportunities to put me and my program down? I don't view my work as re-inventing the wheel, but rather improving upon it...or doing it better than the "wheels" currently available. If you don't like it and have nothing constructive to offer then please, move on...write your own program or stick to the one you like best. I could not care less if it's mine or not. It is a free world after all. :o)
