  6. Comment - To .Net or Not To .Net - That is the Question

    2000 v1.0 Beta 1 (Jan 18, 2001 - 2:50 PM)

Well not quite. If the development community does not give into this new technology, then there is no market for it. Microsoft should get their butts in gear and have the upgrade process work and not have so many bugs when they release it.

  7. Comment - Rivals Push For Open AOL Instant Messenger

    2000 v1.0 Beta 1 (Dec 22, 2000 - 12:00 PM)

Yes I think that the Instant Message Service that was first introduced by AOL need to be available to all other service providers. It’s become the next phone, or computer related e-mail communication. With over 12 Million Instant Message users, and the upcoming years AOL is only going to get more users. But if they don’t allow this service to be providing with all Internet users then it will be a disaster. Ford was the first to make the car, but are they the only ones that sell cars today? The instant message service is expanding also, going to palm pilot and all the new age technology. It's better if they could just make one instant message service that is compatible to the millions of Internet users.

  8. Comment - BaySpider - Tracking Digital Music

    2000 v1.0 Beta 1 (Dec 22, 2000 - 11:49 AM)

Just like a stolen car can be repainted and refitted w/other parts.

If you want to get technical, cars have a manufacture serial number that is imprinted into the cars body. It's on the drives side at the top of the hood. If you take a good look you will see that all cars have them. They are unique ids that can also be use as tracking devices.

  9. Comment - BaySpider - Tracking Digital Music

    2000 v1.0 Beta 1 (Dec 22, 2000 - 11:45 AM)

The National Security Agency is actively "sniffing" key Internet sites that route electronic mail traffic, according to author Wayne Madsen. In an article in the Computer Fraud and Security Bulletin, Madsen reported that sources within the government and private industry have told him that the NSA is monitoring two key Internet routers which direct electronic mail traffic in Maryland and California. In an interview, Madsen said he was told that the NSA is "sniffing" for the address of origin and the address of destination" of electronic mail. The NSA is also allegedly monitoring traffic passing through large Internet gateways by scanning network access points operated by regional and long-distance service providers. Madsen writes that the network access points allegedly under surveillance are at gateway sites in Pennsauken, N.J. (operated by Sprint), Chicago (operated by Ameritech and Bell Communications Research) and San Francisco (operated by Pacific Bell).

  10. Comment - Catch a Thief...Beating Them At Their Own Game

    2000 v1.0 Beta 1 (Nov 13, 2000 - 1:38 PM)

Yes this is very true. There are many programs out there today that will allow people to transfer files from one computer to another. FTP has been using in the past the most and still is very big among the pirate's. These new programs are for the less intelligent users of the Internet. Such as napster, scour, and gnutella. They have just made it more apparent to the broad Internet community. There are always going to be the big dogs out there distributing the stuff around, and those are the people you need to find. But most likely you’re not going to catch them because they’re too high up there. They are so paranoid that they don’t even trust their own mothers.

Even if the programs have been all destroyed, there is still going to be an Undernet of user. Efnet on irc is one of the largest underground trading organization on their Internet where you can find anything. Anything for movie's still in the movie theaters, DIVX movies which are like DVD quality movies, TV shows that have been recorded, iso, warez, mp3's galore, and whatever your looking for. You just need to have the right connections with the right people to find what you are looking for.

There will never be an end. Everything that has ever been made has been exploit and cracked somehow. What the music company needs to understand is that people out there are doing this, and it is becoming very big. Instead of trying to stop it, why don’t they get there hands into some of the action, and maybe make some money off of it. There is alot of money to be made.
