Is this software not adware?
Definition of Adware:
Adware is free software that is supported by advertisements. Common adware programs are toolbars that sit on your desktop or work in conjunction with your Web browser. They include features like advanced searching of the Web or your hard drive and better organization of your bookmarks and shortcuts. Adware can also be more advanced programs such as games or utilities. They are free to use, but require you to watch advertisements as long as the programs are open. Since the ads often allow you to click to a Web site, adware typically requires an active Internet connection to run.
Most adware is safe to use, but some can serve as spyware, gathering information about you from your hard drive, the Web sites you visit, or your keystrokes. Spyware programs can then send the information over the Internet to another computer. So be careful what adware you install on your computer. Make sure it is from a reputable company and read the privacy agreement that comes with it.

This is advertised as "freeware" however there are adverts being shown in the bottom left-hand corner pane. So if you don't like adverts in your software then this is not one for you. Apart from that it has a good array of advanced features. I have based my rating on the misleading claim it is freeware.

This program may not be the best but at least it is free of price and spyware and not listed at http://www.spywarewarrio.../rogue_anti-spyware.htm as spyware unlike "Spywarebot" (exploits name "Spybot Search & Destroy"; same app as AdwareAlert [A: 5-14-06 / U: 5-14-06]) which is advertised on the right of this forum listing.

This looks like a great program however, on installing Reaper on to my system it was refused permission to start by the security programs. This may be due to the way my system is configured, but it is the first time it has ever happened. Perhaps it is because my system is 64-bit. I have uninstalled Reaper until a better version is made available.

Arovax AntiSpyware has a Quick, Clean and very efficient installation. The scan of all drives, 80Gb and 60Gb, took very little time indeed and only found some cookies from Microsoft. Selecting the option to ignore has placed these in a favorites folder. The update facility is a nice touch and will keep all users current.
0.1.8 RC1 (May 23, 2005)
It might be a great program however, the lyrics it picks up need to be rated so others don't waste their time. The Lyric arrives in EvilLyrics, or so you think, but all you get are messages from others or a list of album titles, etc. Add a rating system and you would improve things greatly.
By the way EvilLyrics is a silly name for a useful program. How about Lyric Library or Song Sheet. Perhaps not but a new name IS needed.
