  1. Review - Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications

    1.0 (Nov 28, 2006)

lol. a law-abinding philistine below gave it 5 stars, bumping the overall rating up a little. I'll give it a 1 to get the rating back where it belongs

  2. Review - Microsoft .NET Framework (v3.0)

    3.0.4506.30 (Nov 7, 2006)

the problem with the framework is that every new version installs without removing previous versions. I already have v.1 and 2 and now 3? How much space does this thing actually need? One has to install the framework, though, cause many programmes won't even install if it's not installed, even if the user does not require the respective programme features that need the framework to function. But I am kind of tired of losing my harddisk space over and over again

  3. Review - Adobe Acrobat Professional

    8 (Nov 3, 2006)

does somebody know whether this version still uses that crappy licensing (activation checking) service like the previous version and like all the other adobe applications? if yes, I hope there will be a corporate version, cause this licensing crap eats launches every time you launch acrobat and even when you don't launch it, sits in memory and eats cpu and memory.

With previous version I installed the corporate version which does not require activation and then added German files ripped from a german acrobat pro installation. hope this will work with v.8 too, otherwise I'll start with v.7.

this programme is crap and the licensing issue makes it even crappier. why don't people use the great chm format by MS? it's faster and more user-friendly. If everybody used it I wouldn't even think of installing acrobat on my puter

  4. Review - PHP

    5.2.0 (Nov 3, 2006)

ASP's ability to connect to databases is extremely limited/stunted

no, it's not. ever heard of Access? The only problem with asp is that it costs too much. you need winxp pro or win server 2k3 with IIS plus ms office Access.

pdflib v.6 and 7 as well as zend optimiser don't work with php 5.2. hope they will be updated soon, 'cause as of now the only working php version is the one bundled with php 5.2 and it's old. It's included in the separate package Collection of PECL modules for PHP 5.2.0 along with other php modules. check it out on php.net. add the modules to php.ini

  5. Review - Koepi's XviD Codec

    1.1.2 Final (Nov 1, 2006)

koepi's build is definitely the best xvid build out there, but actually divx uses less cpu power than xvid, so I always switch the fourcc to divx before playing mpeg4 movies. this way the divx decoder is used for decoding purposes

  6. Comment - Microsoft Fights Back Against Vista Pirates

    1.1.2 Final (Dec 17, 2006 - 1:43 PM)

but this solution is totally outdated. both warez releases relying on RC1 registration files were nuked yesterday, reason: not working any longer. The KMS in connection with the Volume Vista edition is the only true solution

  8. Comment - BitTorrent Buys uTorrent Application

    1.1.2 Final (Dec 8, 2006 - 5:09 PM)

why is it always about money? isn't there any idealism left in people? the bittorrent client sucks and those people who created it will eventually destroy utorrent. and you can't use the old version forever. the developer gets the money and we have to deal with the consequences. greaaat

  9. Comment - Vista Minimum Requirements Unrealistic

    1.1.2 Final (Dec 8, 2006 - 5:02 PM)

disable the extended visual features as well as the unnecessary services and you won't need that much power to run Vista. Pentium 4 524 and 1 gb memory should be enough - appr. 200 euros incl. a quality 775 motherboard. if you are willing to pay 400 euro for vista, you should have additional 200 for your hardware

  10. Comment - Office 2007 'Stun Switch' Nothing New

    1.1.2 Final (Nov 25, 2006 - 10:25 PM)

    >"John Walkenbach noted last month, the OGA installed with his beta copy of Excel 2007 sporadically disbelieves that he has genuine Microsoft software on his computer. Eventually, I find out the reason why I can't download an Office 2007 template:Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage: Validation Failed
    "

well, obviously he DOES NOT have genuine soft on his computer. come on, just because his office 2007 is genuine doesn't mean his officexp is genuine. he stole it from MS, and now he's b****ing that MS is unfair. what a moron! There is a whole bunch of morons on the genuine forums.microsoft.com forum who actually post mgadiag reports, which show that not only they are using stolen VLK versions of Winxp, they also have stolen versions of office. And they post this on microsoft's forums, where the admins can see their IPs, and then they complain that MS tells them they are not genuine! this is so ludicrous! No, I agree with them, they are genuine, genuine morons! Some people are just too stupid for the warez business
