While that may be true for computers, most people replace or upgrade their cell phone every two years. I think the bigger problem, at least when I looked into buying a pre, was that you had to upgrade your contract with your carrier for the data plan which I hadn't been using at a cost of an additional $60/month with Sprint. I would have paid a couple hundred for the phone but I don't use that data enough to justify $60 bucks more/month. If it was on say $20 more month I probably would have gotte the pre.

I've tried using google apps but really did't care for the experience so offline for a mediocre product just wouldn't cut it for me. Adobe's buzzword on the other hand is incredible.

I still have a problem with the idea that this patent was ever issued anyway. The concept of recording a stream of data for replay later is so trivial that it in and of itself should never have been patentable.
