  1. Comment - Nearly 60% of Netflix customers plan to close their accounts [poll results]

    (Jul 14, 2011 - 7:35 PM)

Before Netflix opened its doors, do people forget that you paid $4.00 for a new DVD rental at Blockbuster? So, two DVD rentals was about the same as what Netflix is charging for the subscription. $8.99 a month is inexpensive. My brother streams Netflix through his PS3 and watches Hulu on his laptop. With all the content available he cancelled his Direct TV and saves $60 a month. Even if people don't have Internet access you can go with the DVD option. So plan A, plan B, or both. People need to stop whining so much. Netflix has to charge more to the customers if their backbone IPS is charging more for bandwidth.

  2. Comment - Dropbox caves on privacy, opens subscriber files to law enforcement

    (Apr 20, 2011 - 3:39 PM)

If the warrant isn't based on probable cause it will not be upheld in federal court and the evidence is inadmissible in trial. This is disappointing that companies are caving in. Once you give up privacy you never get it back. The framers created the Fourth amendment for a purpose; to keep the goverment in check.

The government may search or seize your computer with a valid warrant, however if you encrypt your computer on boot with a long complex password then they can't see your content since the entire hard drive is encrypted. You don't have to cooperate and give them your password, just your personal effect. To obtain a warrant they must have probable cause.

When will Windows Vista perform as well as Windows XP Pro? When do you plan to release service pack 2 for Windows Vista?

  5. Comment - Congress Expresses Concern Over Digital TV Switch

    (Jul 31, 2007 - 10:53 AM)

Stop worrying people. Congress had passed the legislation for this five years ago. They did it because we are ten years behind Europe when it comes to the way we broadcast TV. All it means is that TV manufacturers will have to make their new TV's different. A majority of congress voted yes to this, so if stop voting for a congressperson because of it, you are a moron. It will be simple, go to Best Buy and get a converter for $50. Pay $20 a month and get the cheapest cable you can buy. This isn't the first story about the issue. It has been reported in the news plenty of times.
