  1. Review - avast! Free Antivirus

    4.7.1044 (Nov 7, 2007)

Good level of protection, comes for free, not a resource hog, auto-updates itself seamlessly. If this is not a 5, nothing is.
It only requires that you register for free on their website once a year.

  2. Review - MPEG Streamclip for Windows

    1.2 Beta 1 (Aug 14, 2007)

It doesn't do everything, but what it does, it does very well.

  3. Review - TestDisk for Windows

    6.8 (Aug 14, 2007)

I tried 10 tools, some very expensive, but only this one saved all the content of my HD.

  4. Review - WinMerge

    2.6.0 (Oct 12, 2006)

    Unbelievably good.

  5. Review - DivX for Windows

    6.1 (Dec 15, 2005)

Would be really good, except that if I put the produced files in my table DivX player, there is no sound, only video.
    On computer it plays fine.

  6. Comment - Google's bad news deluge: Execs held responsible for posting of hate video

    6.1 (Feb 25, 2010 - 11:44 AM)

    I think you are misinformed.
When Youtube was asked to remove the video, they did.
What court said is, they shouldn't have published it in the first place (i.e., Youtube employees should review all videos before they go online).

  7. Comment - Mozilla experiments more with 'New Tab' in Firefox 3.1

    6.1 (Mar 25, 2009 - 2:28 AM)

I agree with the author, the "new tab" should never be necessary.
Alt-click on a link, you already go to a new tab.
Alt-enter on a new address in the address bar, you get a new tab.
I add some new features that would be really nice:

    1) Alt-click on the submit button of a HTML form, it should submit the form in a new tab
    2) Alt-click on the "Home" icon in the toolbar, open the home page in a new tab
    3) In the right-click menu of the tabs, add "Duplicate tab" (i.e. open the same page in a new tab)

If we get this, we don't need a new tab button anymore.
