  1. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v4) for Windows

    3.7 Alpha 1 (Feb 11, 2010)

This is in responce to what someone said above about "What's the point? They announced 3.7 was dead."

During the releasing of FF 3.6 I talked with the head of Firefox on their IRC Channel (who's name escapes me at the moment) that 3.7 wasn't necessarily dead. He said they hadn't made any decision about what to do with it. Evidently they decided to proceed with it. :)

I like this Alpha2pre. It runs like a race car.

  2. Comment - Nintendo: 3D may be harmful to children's vision

    3.7 Alpha 1 (Dec 29, 2010 - 11:28 PM)

They used to say that about Cathode Ray Tube TV sets and that turned out to be false. So I doubt that an LCD or LED monitors will harm anyone's eyes.

  3. Comment - Firefox 4 Beta 7: Faster than 3.6, but not 5x faster

    3.7 Alpha 1 (Nov 16, 2010 - 4:48 AM)

Firefox tends to run a lot slower as time passes. That's because the SQlite Databases inside Firefox become fragmented. Running SpeedyFox defragments them. I run it once a day to keep Firefox running super fast. It works with multiple prefiles and can be used with Windows and MacOSX operating systems. There is no need to install it. Download it, double-click it to open it, select the profile you want and click "Speed Up My Firefox" button and you're done. It takes about 3 seconds to do it's job.

Everytime an appplication has to access the hard drive it is slowed down. Firefox cache is stored on your hard drive. The following tutorial will show you how to change the cache from your hard drive to your computer's RAM (Randowm Access Memory). Doing this will greatly reduce the time that it takes for Firefox to access the cache. This is easy to do if you do it exacly like the tutorial shows you.

The following tutorial will tell you to type about:config in the addressbar and press enter. When you do you will come to a page that says you will void firefox's warranty. This is a joke page so ignore it. Firefox is free and has no warranty. Just press the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to enter the configuration area.

  4. Comment - Opera 11 launches in alpha, offers new features to test

    3.7 Alpha 1 (Oct 26, 2010 - 10:02 AM)

Until Opera offers a way to block Adware Tracking Cookies like other browsers do it will not be worth downloading. I have uninstalled it. I'm sick of removing 300 tracking cookies everyday.

  5. Comment - Firefox starts reining in Flash, Silverlight, QuickTime

    3.7 Alpha 1 (Apr 22, 2010 - 9:35 AM)

I have had no crashing with Firefox 3.6.3 on Windows Home Premium 64-bit. I'm sure that the reason is that I only use new and/or updated addons. I never use the Nightly Tester addon to bypass security. I keep Netscape 9 installed to run some of the older addons that I still like to use occasionally. I believe a lot of the crashes people experience are caused by aging computer components and drive errors.

  6. Comment - Firefox starts reining in Flash, Silverlight, QuickTime

Flash and Silverlight teams have had years to add the extras you speak of. Give the HTML 5 team that same amount of time. Then would be a better time to make your comparison.
