What? Are you kidding me? What does OS Wrap has to do with anything of the recent Microsoft battles? You are one decade behind. BTW, IBM enteprise goliath solid in every enterpise at the time, lost to tiny Microsoft and the culprit was Microsoft's intimidation of PC manufacturer's. WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING MY FRIEND? Check your facts. OS wrap, despite some ahead of its time tech, had a number of serious shortcomings. Problems with drivers, problems with internationalization to name a few and lost fare and square to Microsoft's superior application offerings at the time.

There were free alternatives to virtually every Microsoft product at the time Microsoft got sued. Microsoft still got sued and lost. So, if one interprets the Microsoft ruling, the mere existence of free alternatives, can not save you from being accused of monopolistic tactics and eventually loose.

How is that market share calculated? How can somebody account for Microsoft, if it doesn't sale Security Essentials? If SE share is not calculated, then you can't really say that SE is not one of the reasons of the drop, along with availability of other free good alternatives you mentioned.
