  1. Comment - Mac OS X 10.6.8 is out, and you need it for Lion

    (Jun 24, 2011 - 9:05 AM)

Seemed to download and install rather quickly (like, 5 minutes on a puny Comcast connection), and runs without incident.

  2. Comment - Why did Apple choose Twitter over Facebook?

    (Jun 12, 2011 - 8:08 PM)

Anyone who thinks twitter is for 13-year-old girls possibly hasn't taken advantage of Twitter news feeds from, e.g., Techmeme, ReadWriteWeb, CNETNews, Mediagazer, Lifehacker, arstechnica, WebMasterworld, wired, TechRepublic, EFF, PCWorld, SourceForge, engadget, Reuters, IBMCloud, alistapart... just to name a few. These are for mature reading, if you can handle it. If you can't, as you say, "Sorry."

As long as there are web developers and any users of *any* browsers, *no* browser is dead. I have copies of as many browsers as I can get my hands on, and use at least three per week. (Thank goodness for xmarks!) I can't imagine that Firefox is doomed: it has a heavy following in Europe. Though Chrome is gaining, I suspect FF will continue to be the number two player. (I think no small part of this is that Google needs to clean up part of its bad reputation before Chrome can truly take a major leap in market share.)

  4. Comment - What is Steve Jobs so afraid of?

    (Oct 19, 2010 - 4:17 PM)

Spot on, Joe. SJ sounds like the politicians in our locale. When in doubt, pick on your opponent.

  5. Comment - IDC: Apple iOS market share will decline 26 percent through 2014

    (Sep 7, 2010 - 7:31 PM)

IDC forgot to factor in the decline and fall of GOOG
