1. Comment - DirecTV and TiVo kiss and make up, again, with HD agreement

   I have personal experience as a longtime DirecTV TiVo customer that was "upgraded" to their own boxes. I had no problems with my first-generation TiVo for 5 years. The new box crashed nearly two dozen times in the first 48 hours with it. When it did work, the interface was poorly conceived and seemingly never tested for bugs. The DirecTV support reps I called admitted how overwhelmed they were with complaints and returns from people because of the switch. One of their techs even said they'd have to pry her TiVos out of her cold, dead hands. I ran back to my TiVo and now have a very expensive HDTV with no HD, but I'm still happier than when I had the "upgrade" and I wish I had read the review on Amazon first. Nice to know they've listened to reason, but waiting at least another year is a long time to hold out.
