2.5 Beta 1 (Feb 10, 2009)
This is an excellent tool, but version 2.0 is not new at all. It's been around like this as open source since 2003. The product is no longer updated.
It's offspring became RoboDemo, which has now become Macromedia Captivate.
Beware: There is a version 2.1 around somewhere that is a more limited edition of v2.0 and is NOT open source
7.0 Build 2006011601 (Jan 16, 2006)
From an educational point of view, this is probably the best editor on the market today for that kind of price. It supports everything you might want to do with XML or SGML files, DTD's or Schema's, xslt or other tools. It is the only appplication that provides a usefull xslt debugger in combination with the rest.
Responsiveness of version 7 is much better than that of previous versions. Compared to Epic (Arbortext Editor) or XML writer it is much slower.
Comparing Oxygen with XML Spy, Emacs, Stylus Studio, XMetal or many others will defintely result in something that grants Oxygen the advantage.

4.0.0 (Oct 2, 2004)
Even though the interface seems slow sometimes, the tweaks make sure the system itself works fast most of the time. I've noticed definite improvements after tweaking with Tweak-XP pro.
From a completely different point of view I often wonder if it is usefull to continue using this (kind of) program i.e. buying it. Once tweaked, the avereage user seems to have little use for this package. BUT: I do advise many "endusers" to install it, use it and read the appropriate helpfile in order to become "powerusers". The programme does a really good job educating and rewarding (via the effective tweaks and utilities).
For that purpose alone Tweak-XP Pro is worth the price.
2.0-22 (May 2, 2004)
Quite fast, good interface. Sufficient support for plenty of markp languages, easily extended.
It was nice to discover I actually have a use for this program: it will come in handy next time I want to include code snippets in my documentation. With a small modification it's output can be made in to a navigatable code tree or groove.
2.0-22 (Dec 12, 1999 - 8:11 AM)
I've turned 4.3 upside down and I haven't found any improvement at all. The only addition seems to be the link history of which I fail to see the use (for now).
The ads aren't bothersome, but they're not usefull either. And the fact that they are presented as a feature worries me.
After five years of heavy duty eudora usage, I still stick with the Pro version because I need its search capacities and its huge mailfolders. 4.3 is as good as 4.2.2 Pro and for any 'light' user it might be an improvement.
