    This software does merge / concatenate / join multiple mp3s quickly...once you have painstakingly selected each file one by one, or pointed it to a folder and then even more painstakingly removed non-mp3 files, That is, I found the hotkeys to be unresponsive; I could only remove files by using the context menu (making sure to highlight the file first, lest I risk a full crash).

    Moreover, if you use iTunes it will not read the file length correctly, e.g., if you merge two 3 minute songs it will display the resulting "song" as being only 3 minutes (the length of the first track) but continue to play the rest of the track. This will prevent you from seeking through any of the merged part of the song. Winamp has no problem with the resulting mp3s.

    I ended up transcoding merged files via Winamp and the resulting files had no trouble playing in my iPod.

    I am in the US. And I am running 2.5.0.72 Beta also. I semi-frequently purchase skypeout credits and I just ran out. That might have something to do with it I guess...
