Mo-Search *will* take longer to build the initial index because it indexes: file names AND file content too (Locate32 does NOT index file content). Once this initial index is built (33 minutes for me with 163,000 files/80 million words), the index is auto updated.
Locate32 works fine but doesn't search inside files, which is what I need daily.
@NyaR – how many Files & Words were indexed in those two hours? I bet a lot.

I've used this tool for a very long, and I still do. It works very well, and the UI is both pleasant + powerful. Really I don't have anything negative to say. But, I can only give it 4 stars because of 7-Zip.
7-zip is free, delivers overall higher compression, and generally faster on very large files, large databases, large sets of files etc.
That said - the WinRar UI is slightly better, but for a true tool I care about most about what it delivers, and I use 7Zip for compression (tip: use LZMA2 compression when creating .7z files, I'm not sure why this isn't the default!!!)
One big plus of WinRar is the file format is more standard/widespread, so it's more common for someone you're sending files to have WinRar installed.

Over the years I've tried different versions of this search tool, and have spent 3 or 4 hours trying to use it from different computers, and for different search scenarios.
Cons:
> No built in fileviewer
> Only search by filename, and not File Contents (no full text search!!)
> Doesn't search network shares.
> UI very limited, and in my opinion basically unusable.
> HTTP/ETP/FTP server functionality (wasted too much time trying to get this working properly on multiple servers and workstation). Also this server is a *sizable* security hole (not a good idea to add a server into an application, unless you want malware and hackers getting in).
> Installs user data into C:\Programs Files\, which skirts Development practices for Vista, Win7 and Win8.
> Other issues: no AutoUpdate mechanism, Esc closes the application (another bad development practice), etc.
Pros:
> Free (Better search tools exist: Google (OK), Microsoft (OK- for searching lots of text files), Locate32 (OK+), and Mo-Search (the only one I use every day)
> Options dialog provides lots of checkboxes (don't improve my search experience)
> People seem to download this, and I surmise some like it (not sure why)
Every year or two I'll really spend time testing a bunch of desktop search tools. But (thus far) they all frustrate, and prevent me from finding what I need, and lack an integrated fileviewer, lack truly ranked results, and lack common search filtering capabilities. The only one I run on all my workstations and servers is Mo-Search (also free).

This is a really excellent compression utility! Very high quality and free

This is a really great program! After fooling with Acrobat reader for the past many years, I recently dumped it for Foxit. Foxit really is much better. Lighter weight, faster, smaller, easier to use and fewer bugs. Acrobat Reader has really gone down hill the past few years, I'm glad I found Foxit! Now I’m Acrobat free!
