  1. Review - nVIDIA GeForce Drivers for Windows

    43.00 Quadro (Mar 11, 2003)

People are complaining that these are not WHQL compliant and that they're Quadro drivers.
If these are UDA (Unified Driver Architecture) drivers then they'll work on all NVIDIA cards.
Even v41.09 for Windows XP and 2000 aren't WHQL compliant!
    They're WHQL Candidates, not certified!
Anyway, these drivers do improve my performance and I've got a Geforce2 MX/400

  2. Review - TVTool

    6.8 (Oct 2, 2002)

TVTool does what it claims to do, mirror your video signal to your TV. But, the new Detonator drivers do this properly and do it more elegantly, not making you go down to 60 Hz and 800x600 on your monitor.
This program was a must have before the new 40.x Detonator drivers came out. Now, WITHOUT this program, Detonator takes care of TV Out properly.
Unfortunately, that makes what this program does moot.

  3. Review - 3d Traceroute

    1.6.41:88 Preview (Sep 30, 2002)

Interesting graphics, etc. But, what's the purpose of having 3D in this application? I think it's ultimately a time waster.

  4. Review - Microangelo Toolset

    5.55 (Sep 28, 2002)

Nice program for creating and modifying XP Icons. But, ultimately a time waster :)

  5. Review - KaZaA Media Desktop

Don't use this garbage. It installs all sorts of adware without your consent. Use something else like WinMX or some other GNUtella client.

  6. Comment - Microsoft Launches Broadband Hardware Line

    2.0 (Sep 28, 2002 - 1:46 PM)

It's odd that Microsoft is allowed to create all sorts of hardware like this. I thought they were being kept out of the living room (ie. their WebTV product included in the XBox). It's strange to see them focussing on a router like this. But I'm sure the final product will work and will be solid.

  7. Comment - Apple Updates Darwin, Opens Rendezvous

    2.0 (Sep 28, 2002 - 1:42 PM)

I can't understand why people keep comparing Apples to 'oranges'. The speed of PPC chips has nothing to do with the same MHz of an x86 chip. Try comparing the same video card and bus speed, RAM and some process such as Photoshop or something else. It's quite comprable if not faster. Yes Apple's hardware is more expensive. They've started to go over to PCI, IDE and standard PC-133 RAM. This transition ot x86 chip architechture is a natural move, in the same vein.
Ultimately, they'll have some proprietary version of some sort of hardware in their machine and you will NOT be able to install OSX on your PC because of this. Some simple thing like a CMOS or ROM chip will keep you out. But, I can see hacked versions of OSX out there.

  8. Comment - Trillian Fights Back as AOL Boots its Users

    2.0 (Feb 8, 2002 - 4:09 AM)

I've tried Odigo and wasn't impressed.
But this client actually works and has a clean interface.
    Nice going, Cerulean.

  9. Comment - Mac OS X 10.1 Betas Leaked

    2.0 (Aug 5, 2001 - 2:57 PM)

What features are available in OS X that would make a move from OS 9.x and AppleShare IP 6.x worthwhile?
I'm currently using my G4 with AppleShare IP 6.x to run a mail and web server as well as a file server for my local LAN.
