    I'm guessing all of these xxxU models are USB. Have you folks tried connecting to the scanner under an Administrator account? That's the only way I've gotten my UMAX scanner to work.

    Hey, I _LIKE_ the lack of an installer. I can just unzip the thing and be done with it, no need to worry about it overwriting something important or trying to hijack my (1) file associations, (2) browser preference, (3) mail and news preferences and (4) Home page. I'd much rather have it offer to change these items through a properties page, much like WinRAR does for compressed file types.
