  1. Comment - The bright spot in Microsoft's mobile OS disaster is...

    (Sep 28, 2010 - 1:22 PM)

I agree.. What happened to the news? Particularly up and coming product news? As a long-time lurker, I find myself disheartened looking through my Daily RSS and seeing Mr. Wilcox's opinions and oftentimes egregious frothing-at-the-mouth opinions polluting the Feed.

It would appear that I'm going to have to vote with my feet tp remove this feed and add BoingBoing and Engadget which seems to spend more time posting information on technology (both current and upcoming), and Slashdot which seems to better report tech news and exploits.

  2. Comment - With Microsoft's and Google's help, Facebook assembles, like, a platform

    (Apr 22, 2010 - 12:41 AM)

    >...The model Zuckerberg is discussing is
    >essentially a published API for users of
    >any service to associate themselves
    >with something -- not just something they like...

Uhh. given the manner for Zuckerberg and his programming cronies are chipping away at privacy; with the latest "service changes" that allow information to be shared regardless of individual privacy settings this to me has a definite ominous ring to it.

  3. Comment - Google Chrome grows up, joining the realm of everyday exploitability

    (May 7, 2009 - 10:27 AM)

What I'm more concerned about is not that vulnerabilities were found, but instead why the developers of Chrome had made the decision to patch the browser silently without the usual bells and whistles that most other companies do when their product needs to be done.

If Mac did that with Safari, or Microsoft did that with IE, there would be hell to pay.. But too many within the tech industry are applauding Google for this tactic, which certainly raises an eyebrow in this neck of the woods.

  4. Comment - EU Parliament approves law ensuring Internet access as a fundamental right

    (May 7, 2009 - 10:19 AM)

This is rather ironic, given that members of the EU are currently petitioning to take control of ICANN from the United States, given they think that while the US has done a good job, the IPV4 assignments can be done by a group of nations better than they US could do.

I'm beginning to see a pattern here, one that I'm not too keen to seeing given that it's whack jobs like AU, CH and even the UK on the other side of the spectrum wanting to stop the evil sex fiends from putting pornography on the net, or prevent VOIP from reaching cellphone providers... Let's not forget all the evils of pirating and Pirate Bay, and caps on Broadband that's going on as well..

Hmmm.. Makes me wonder what the true agenda is here...

  5. Comment - Dear Time Magazine: Know when you're pwned
