Well that didn't go well.
First it said I would have to update to a paid version because it did not have support for my TV Card with MPEG Hardware Uncoder (Hauppauger 150 card) then I got a screen from my Antivirus saying it was trying to install a Trojan, then it locked up. I also found it had installed a program called RelevantKnowledge, you can opt out but it's real easy to miss.
I tried it on another computer. This time it installed, but I never could get a proper image. It had bands at the corner and bottom and I could not get the interface to show like it does in the picture (perhaps you have to pay for that?).
Two systems, 3 TV cards. no luck. It may be me, but it's not worth my time any longer.
2008.1.87 (Nov 17, 2008)
No Graphics Displays for the benchmarking tabs. With the last few updates I had skewed graphics, now none at all. The only version that works for me seems to be 1.84. I've had problems with all the updates since then.
2008.1.85.2 (Aug 23, 2008)
Update: I just installed a new video card and it still locks up on Global Benchmark. I didnt think it would change anything, just thought I would retest it. Funny that it worked great as version 1.84 (which I now use) and locks up with 1.85. If it was driver or compatability issues why didnt it happen with 1.84?
This version locks up when I try and do a Global Benchmark. I have no problems with version 1.84.
Version 1.85 reads my core temps, with my E8400, @ 27°/26°.
Speed fan reads 42°/41° (so does HWMonitor) and Real Temp reads 32°/31°. Version 1.84 shows 42°/41°.
1.3.0.0 Build 683 Beta (Aug 22, 2008)
Unless I'm totally mistaken (and I have been ) this is DVD Flick "Portable", NOT DVD Flick. I had the same errors others are reporting when I tried to install this.
I'm rating this for the "Portable" version.
DVD Flick 1.3.0.0 Build 616 (beta) works great.
EDIT:
I see rcglidden below commented on the same thing. What is the Portable version about?
1.6.4 (Aug 2, 2008)
Fantastic!
I have been a bit intimidated by VM products in the past, but this is something that anyone can master. I had it up and running with Ubuntu and Vista on my XP machine in no time.
Try it!
