  1. Review - Spybot - Search & Destroy (Beta)

    2.0.8.0 Beta 6 (May 10, 2012)

Giving such a successful and effective program an overhaul like this is fixing what didn't need fixing. Sorry developers, but as a long-time (many, many years) SB-S&D user, 2.0 needs to be thrown in the garbage with New Coke and Ad-Aware. Chalk it up as a mistake and just build on what works. Unless that happens, I'll stick with 1.x for as long as it's supported, then regrettably uninstall it like I did Ad-Aware and hope something else fills the void.

Winamp not switching to an iTunes-style layout is THE reason I still use it.

  3. Review - Weather Watcher Live

    6.1.12 (Oct 19, 2009)

Excellent program, but like others, I don't like the recurring fee idea. Make it a one-time lifetime fee and I'd most likely get it when the budget allowed.

  4. Review - Weather Watcher Live

    6.0.0.61 (Sep 18, 2008)

Different weather than Weather Watcher could be due to Live having more weather station reporting options - Live gave me a few to choose from, including one from the college 8 blocks away.

Except a couple bugs here and there (that don't really bug me that much), Live's a welcome improvement over its predecessor.

  5. Review - Google Chrome for Windows

    0.2.149.27 Beta (Sep 2, 2008)

Damn impressive, especially for a 0.2 beta. But, fairly or not, it must be compared to Firefox, and FF is far ahead due to its extensions and overall customization options. Chrome's young, though, and has plenty of time to set itself apart from the rest.
