Just installed version 9.11. works fine, a lot of improvements over the previous ones. Thank you guys at the ATI for a great job. For the first time my sharp LCD 1080p shows the correct screen resolution. Graphics also look great.

  2. Review - AMD Catalyst Drivers for Windows

    8.11 (Nov 13, 2008)

Please note that 8 is the version No. whereas 11 refers to the month in which the driver was released. ATI consistently updates the drivers for better performance.

  3. Review - xVideoServiceThief for Windows

    1.7.1 Alpha (Mar 16, 2008)

Ofcourse! it can convert to MPEG there is an icon at the bottom RH corner. Sometimes I like to D/L a funny video from the you tube and it does it as it says. Nice program.

  4. Review - AMD Catalyst Drivers for Windows

    7.9 (Sep 11, 2007)

ATI has consistantly come out with improved drivers each month. The latest 7.9 takes the cake, my ATI Radeon 1600 card powers my Sharp 37" LCD TV to which I have hooked up my computer via DVI and the image is stunning. I have tried Nvidia card before but this is simply breath taking. Thanks to all the staff ATI.

  5. Review - nVIDIA GeForce Drivers for Windows

    1.58.45 Beta (Jun 4, 2007)

I bought an Nvidia Card 8800 GTX for the first time as I have always been buying ATI cards. This card disabled my network connection inspite of many attempts and also would not fill my 37" Sharp LCD TV which has a max resolution of 1920x1080p whereas my ATI 1600 does it beautifully without any problems, besides they are right on target with updating the drivers. I made several attempts to contact Nvidia and they did not respond, so I returned the card and took a 25% loss.

  7. Comment - RealPlayer 10 Beta Debuts with Music Store

    1.58.45 Beta (Jan 24, 2004 - 9:01 AM)

Despite the rantings about how bloated the software is, and inspite of the presence of so called spware, unfazed I have been using this player for a very long time. Recently I bought a new video card from ATI and it comes with the enhanced version. I would like to point here that the new interface not in the Real 10 but the free version is very likeable and easy. When I choose my playlists, it copies the files from my music folder and displays distinctly everthing about a particular MP3, the duration, artists etc, etc,. In addition DFX has a program specially formulated to enhance the sound effects in the Real. All said and done this player is very good. Mind you, I have played around with most of the players on the net including foobar. In the end I have chosen Real Player, and I am completely satisfied with its performance. This is just my opinion.

  9. Comment - Microsoft Releases First DirectX 9 Beta

    1.58.45 Beta (Jun 1, 2002 - 6:50 PM)

Hey did you install the beta ? I have and it is a big difference from 8.1 the prvious version. My fonts look cleare, the graphic enhancement is to be seen to be believed, and myh games has that extra looks and feel unavailable in the previous version. All in all this is a marvellous developement in the Direct X series. Just see the any movie trailer in the Quick Time and you will instantly see the difference in the quality. I watched a DVD movie with Direct X 9 installed, my God ! it's great, the sound effects with my Audigy SB is improved and crystal clear. What more do you want, and this is just a beta ?

  10. Comment - Perspective: XP or OS X?

    1.58.45 Beta (Jun 1, 2002 - 6:42 PM)

Ofcourse, I concur with your argument. If you want the computer to work for you go for Apple, but if you want to work with the computer then a better choice XP a qoute from some source which is so true. It's almost a full month since I switched from Apple OSX to Windows XP, I am beggining to educate myself with all the intricacies of XP. I have had the brand new Dell computer messed up and spent sleeples nights thinking how to fix it, went to all those support forums and learned a lot, and still in the process of learning. Learning the working of this superb OS is coninues, and there seems to be so much to learn, on the contrary Apple was so much easier and simple. No sir I do not want the easier way out.The fun part in the configurations, typing the paths correctly, registry tweaking, and tweaking the entire OS as such, to tailor to individual needs, only Windows XP allows you, there is a lot of challenge should something go wrong in the XP, you get your brain fully functional and thinking as to how and why and then when you finally put everything together again voila ! you sit back and cheer your expertise. There is no challenge left in Apple, since it does everything for you. I have had Apple before, but needed something more to challenge my faculties and I have found that in Windows XP. Windows XP may not be as colourful as OS X with the genie effect etc, but who cares XP is cool. I love to screw things up and reformat and reinstall, partition, create an image, tweak the registry, change the way my desktop looks. I love it, and it gives me much pleasure.
