  1. Review - Apple iTunes for Windows

    7.6.2 (Apr 3, 2008)

I have a dual core vista laptop and iTunes runs great on my machine. When first loading it does take a lot of CPU use but for me it drops to almost 0% in less than a minute.
If you don't have an iPod then sure there are other/better apps, but if you do this is for you. Of course there are other apps that work for the iPod also, but few can offer the features and ease of iTunes. This isn't just for computer newbies. If you want something that works and works without having to think about it thats ok. You can still be a geek and enjoy iTunes. I have plenty of software that requires time, tweaking and general hassle to get running well. Its nice to have something I don't have to spend a lot of time for it to work.

  2. Review - save2pc

    3.11 (Oct 18, 2007)

I just started using this and it works great. I have Vista and there are no problems for me. I don't see any ads on it and I have the current version. Highly recommended program.

  3. Review - K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

    1.39 Beta (Oct 7, 2005)

This is the defacto in easy to use software!
Just remeber to uninstall any old versions before installing a new one.
With Media Player Classic I can watch anything I can throw at it, even HD.

  4. Review - IE Middle Clicker

This program is amazing! It works perfectly and I have not found a bug yet. It is freeware like this that makes you smile.

  5. Comment - PC Monitor: Keep watch on your computer anytime from anywhere on anything

Another Ad disguised, poorly, as an article. If it was a Beta app I could understand.

I use Freemake and works great on all my devices, Android, Itunes/Ipod/Itouch and PS3 for free.

@New Doraemon I completely agree. Betenews has to stop doing ads for software as news articles. Maybe if it was beta software and maybe a hint of a review I could understand. But this is just an ad. The only saving grace is that it points to some alternatives. And I'm sure better ones.

  7. Comment - Netflix users revolt over price increases [poll]

    1.1 (Jul 14, 2011 - 8:52 PM)

Well if that is the only thing then I didn't comment on that. Like I said I'm surprised they haven't already. Every cable/sat company I have ever been with has raised its prices and never given any reason. Well maybe with "better service" but that doesn't float with me if my service was fine to begin with. With Netflix, they have so many people who stream movies that it is using tons of bandwidth. And like I said compared to the turn-around in getting movies (esp compared to Blockbuster) you have to imagine their are a lot of employees and shipping centers. As far as giving a reason the first part of their email to me was one and a truthful one at that. They are straight up saying they can't continue to provide both of those services at that one price. Blockbuster hiked their cost up every few months with no reason and if you wanted to stream anything you had to pay for each movie (that was stream(able)).

"We are separating unlimited DVDs by mail and unlimited streaming into two separate plans to better reflect the costs of each."

I think that is a reason. Meaning the cost (for Netflix) of proving both of those services demands they be made separate. If they gave a BS response like, "To provide a better experience," then you better bet I would expect something. Something they couldn't deliver on I'm sure. But I get great service from them already.

Also I know lots of people who do just DVDs and no streaming at all or vice versa. So for people who only do one of those things then it doesn't affect them really.

Like I said their first sentence seemed to me to be an explanation. Could it have been done better? Yes.

  8. Comment - Netflix users revolt over price increases [poll]

    1.1 (Jul 13, 2011 - 7:51 PM)

Hah I love how everyone is so outraged by this. I can't believe Netflix didn't do this sooner! With getting just one DVD at a time with Netflix I get more in a month than I did from blockbuster with getting 3 DVDs at a time due to shipping times. That was for $24/month. With Netflix's new price increase its only $6 more for me. I think I can understand that considering I stream movies and TV shows all the time and I get a Blu-Ray disc in the mail every other day. The amount of bandwidth they are using for people to stream isn't free to them. Increases in cost are never any fun, but c'mon people this isn't so bad. I hear a lot of people saying they will just use Redbox from now on, etc... have fun with that! And Hulu is great but only when paired with Netflix. Still a whole lot cheaper than cable or dish! I mean if you are this concerned over this increase then your cable/sat bill must be a major concern also...right?

  9. Comment - Diskeeper 2011: Reduces fragmentation by up to 85%

This type of article is in a nutshell what is happening with Betanews. This articles is just a long ad. No comparisons with other products, etc.. Hearing about certain new features in some apps may warrant an article but at least give some stats and how they compare to other apps. Some testing of the app! Anything!

I'm not going to waste my time but I bet you get this same info from Diskeeper's website....

To bad adblockers or popup blockers don't block pages like this. Complete waste of time.
