    @GuyHersch

Thanks a million for the right link ! it is still not working right through betanews. still one of the best programs to download single music files.
with or without browser, and with or without the "new" interface. it performs rock steady.

  7. Comment - Windows 7 speeds up in 2011, 350 million licenses sold

    2.0.6 (Apr 22, 2011 - 11:53 PM)

some ages ago when vhs (mediocre video standard) took over from reknown better others (betamax, video 2000) the panorama was about the same.
windows 7 is the most used computer os, and now, like it or not, windows 7 mobile together with nokia hardware backup represents a serious menace to other reknown brands.
but why the panic ? isnt there room for enough players ? isnt it ultimately in the consumers profit to have several different options ? or is the " mine is better than yours" culture good for some hidden profit ?
one also doesnt need to be a "marketing specialist" to see the evolution from simple smart phone to sophisticated smartphone capable of and in fact aiming to make obsolete laptops and netbooks.
some trendy observations tend to "confirm" a lesser growth of home computers because of tablets and new smartphones.
would it really be worth it to speculate if this is true ?
isnt the home computer market and the "on the road" computer market just definitively that basically different that any comparision dispute is in fact senseless ?
who would trade his/her home computer for a tablet/super smartphone ?
i think its great to have an apple, an android, a blackberry, a windows7 phone.
i think its not great that apple, samsung, and all others get tangled up in " your thing looks too much like my thing" kind of bouts.
shouldnt they just stick to building the best ever made gadgets, and let us, the ultimate consumers, decide which ones go and which ones dont ?

  8. Comment - The PC era is over

    2.0.6 (Feb 9, 2011 - 11:52 AM)

I personally think the question is not about wether the pc era is over or not. smartphones outselling pc's yes of course, no problem. it represents a whole new angle of connectivity. possibly pc will no longer be the dominant factor in digital land, but to declare them obsolete at the same time ?
Niro sort of gave the right direction for a solid criticism of the beforementioned and I can only add that I cant just write off the whole of the pc base because of the assumption that their time has come. I guess that instead of declining, computers will maintain their basic communication function for instance, mailing, surfing the net , communicating through facebook, twitter, etc never looked better than or your homely widescreen monitor, or is it that now the smartphone's shape (small) offers better visibility than the old fashioned flatscreen monitors ? maybe new smartphone users that do not own a computer will aument, but what about the enormous amount of computer users that also own a smartphone ? do they also prefer their smartphone's form factor to that of the home computer ? will they seriously consider their basestation to be out of this era(time) ?
i do not attempt to think for anyone about this. considering my 25years of pc use and now my smartphone use, i consider the new smartphone as a very welcome fascilitator of expanding my communication abilitys by means of computerized gadgets not thought of for a long time. I do not see myself not using my pc anymore because of my smartphone. i've set them up to smoothly work together and i must say that is working flawlessly.
crossplatform communications is whats gathering the next momentum. instead of criticizing each others different brands, shouldnt we be better off communicating ? isnt that what really matters ?

I guess this gentleman just confirmed as to why he got transferred. looks like a classic case of reversed moral. Or should one just accept the inability of a single person to deal properly with his/her own life to be passed on to the silent and unknown masses ? I do not think it to be in the interest of mankind to justify what is simply wrong.
But then again, I just maybe out of touch with today's world eh ?
