  1. Review - DAEMON Tools Lite

    3.26 (Dec 15, 2002)

buggy. it keeps getting worse. fresh install xp with sp1, install daemon tools after a couple of reboots, there are scsi errors, dtools won't start. event log shows bad data structures, system killing the scsi driver. Then boom, reboot, bluescreen, reboot, bluescreen over and over again. Can't uninstall in safe mode. do a system restore, system runs fine again. install with care

  2. Review - RAMBoss

    1.2.5 (Aug 29, 2002)

pointless. freeing ram is not a good thing, it's a bad thing because you waste time and cpu cycles swapping memory back and forth when you don't need to. I know it "feels" good to see that free ram available but your system is faster if you keep stuff in ram instead of out of it. when the os decides it needs ram it will swap anyways

  3. Review - Gunner

    1.0 Beta 1 (Feb 18, 2002)

call me a monkey's uncle for installing this load of dung. You would think it would check if resolutions are supported by the monitor before changing them. Note to author: don't be in such a hurry to release your game if your game isn't even beta material. A game is no good if it doesn't even work

  6. Comment - CIAC: XP Error Reporting Bad for Privacy

    0.81 Beta (Oct 22, 2001 - 9:33 PM)

During the XP beta period the programs I was developing used to generate those error reporting dialogs too. If you look at the details, it send the whole program along with it's data to MS. It may contain proprietory code (in my case) or even user passwords and sensitive data such as email etc. I'm glad they put the advisory out.
