This is an ill-conceived question, and rather a disservice to the non-IE browser community. If we were to somehow upgrade Gallo's $4 street wine to a half-way decent merlot, would we then feel compelled to compare this degree of change to that of an incremental refinement to an already oustanding grand cru? I think we'd hear howls from the wine community.

What difference does it make if it's efficient or not? What difference does it make if this is the most desirable, theoretically or politically or otherwise, of all possible energy sources? What seems most important is that they're doing something. Any high-level commitment to 'alternate' energy production has got to be positive in our current environment of delay, delay, delay. Every effort to counter political inaction and corporate hostility should be applauded. I say rally behind these efforts and don't cynically over-analyze.
