To release a version of software that goes in reverse as far as features is terrible.
You will not be able to connect and do a sync over your network.... Don't install this until they fix it.
3.8 is the way to go right now.
Build 1812 Beta (Jan 22, 2005)
This program is a virus.... I have had friends install it and it messes up their email. Stay Away From It!

Followup - I was not satisfied with the arrogant Gerry/Jerry's statement that it was my computer THEIR driver was perfect on his machine and called again. I reached a much more amenable Sr Tech this time who FULLY admitted there was a KNOWN bug in the new driver that did not enable multiple monitors to work. They are supposedly working to put out a warning regarding this. So. DO NOT INSTALL THIS new driver if you are using XP SP2 (as they say you must be running before installing it). Hope this helps someone!
DO NOT install these new drivers yet. They may work for you, they may not. If they don't you are not going to get any help from ATI. I was just on the phone wiht them twice this morning and they just spouted the usual line you hear from Microsoft. "It works fine on my pc".
My problem : after installation of the new drivers my dual display option does not function. It was not work ONLY after I installed the new drivers but ATI techs say it can't be the driver because it works fine here. So it must be you.
Wait....let them fix the bugs (ONCE They acknowledge that they have a bug and then install it...
Pathetic....

It is always reassuring for me to see products like this. While I have several dvr's in the house from our provider (DirecTv) it is my windows media center that is the core of my Multimedia base. I have an older TIVO model Directv DVR connected via a coax cable to my WMC. I use IR Blaster from the WMC to change the channels on the dvr and this set up has worked out VERY well after getting it configured. I originally had it connected via the RGB cable (video yellow, red/white audio). I"m using a WinTV PVR 1600 card and this last connection just would die every few hours. The video would lose sync or something. This is why I had to switch to a coax cable. This is also my biggest problem. It is using the OLDEST (7 years old now) DVR though I'm just using it as a Satellite Tuner.
however...the fact that Hauppauge has made this device means i'll still have options when my current hardware does die..

i don't undestand the unwhelm comment
THis software is simply designed for one thing. To allow you to view your kindle e-books on your pc. That's it, nothing more. As that is what it is designed to do, and what it delivers then it is successful.

i agree. i was gobsmacked when i watched that video... it's hard enough getting people to come to this thing but then to have that as a 'resource'?? sigh

what microsoft has ditched has less to do with it than what people identify with. Naming a search engine MySearch would work for them and for people. I can imagine them installing an app that would add it to your documents folder as a place to save searches etc.. :)
