  1. Comment - Apple's problem with Flash is mobile applications competition

WebGL anyone? Will the ipad support WebGL? Apple is basically writing the standard.

  2. Comment - Russinovich: A possible cure for exploitable heap corruption in Windows 7

    (Dec 31, 2009 - 11:31 AM)

Everything went to crap when we left the old Unix fork() model. Threads just simply shouldn't be able to access the same memory, they should only be allowed to communicate with each other via pipes. Founding fathers of Unix realized this, but then MS had to come in with multiple threads accessing the same memory and it's been hell ever since. And then of course we had to create pthreads for Unix to make it more Windows like. So much pain for some brain dead design decisions.

Luckily Google has it right with their patterns in Gears, Go, etc. Threads can only communicate via pipes or queues.

  3. Comment - Google's value proposition for Chrome OS: Should we feel insulted?

    (Nov 23, 2009 - 2:12 PM)

People in the U.S. might feel insulted. But the rest of the developing world that doesn't even have internet? I think not. Google is assuming the OLPC torch from Negroponte.

  4. Comment - Microsoft misses a perfect opportunity for Windows 7 and multitouch

    (Oct 22, 2009 - 1:24 PM)

Scott, how many multitouch ready apps are out there? MS isn't worried about it because there aren't yet apps ready for it. This article is a massive waste of bandwidth.
