OK, it does what it says is does very very well. Grab a folder full of photo files, drag them to the progam window, pick a new file size and format from the pop-up menus, and click Save All. They get converted to the new size and format all at once and quickly.
The need for a 60MB download, in the form of the dotNet 3.5 distributable, is somewhat disturbing. Anyone have and leads for a similarly simple and free program that doesn't require such a large extra download?

There's nothing cheaper (free) or easier (4 clicks or so) to take those (legally acquired) Divx's and other video files you've (legally) downloaded and whip up a DVD for the living room. It may take a little while to transcode and burn (about 30 minutes on a P4@3GHz for a 22 minute sitcom episode, but that's no slower than other software), but once you select your files and pick your desired settings, you can just walk away, and out pops your DVD when it's done. It'll even save the ISO file if you want more copies - well done all around.
