Yes! XoloX, the best Gnutella client is back! The new version 1.18 seems to be as good as the old one (1.12), but with important impovments, such as info about mp3's bitrate and autocompletition. XoloX ROCKS!

This program is great! I have not had any problems running it on XP. Almost all my d/ls started imediatly. The interface (albeit a little bit slow) is simple and nice. Overall it is a great program and will probably be replacing edonkey and kazaa for me.

This is far better than Limewire. I had no problems with the install and it ran great under Win2000.

Not bad, needs a built in media player and updated Gnutella technology

Even better, but the chatroom is not working in the program but this link does work:

Visit that XoloX chatroom if you need help, i could not connect and they help me get it up and running.

still probably the fastest gnutella client, although technically dead. v1.13 is not official, but a patched version so people can continue to use it since XoloX shutdown in fear of a lawsuit. gnucleus is catching up now, with multisource downloads.

this is a live installer executable. (a downloader)

xolox connects to G2, fastrack, edonkey.
gnutella & neo were greyed out.

it could not find startpage here (firewall issue?). hell, why does it have one. integrating internet explorer sucks anyway.

it crashed, i _think_ while i was randomly clicking the main window (or another category) during an "apply" operation in the configuration dialog.

the blocklist is not what you should expect these days (compare to eg emule xtreme).

gui is not only ugly but also functionally poor.
(it differs from the current screenshot wich is nice. has a wicked skin now. lol)

i found some files that i have not seen before. downloading them did not start (well, okay) and did not show any status information. bad. i gave up.

the "integrated" mldonkey (wich is just a hidden copy of the console application mldonkey) created it's temp files not where i specified to save them in xolox configuration. (may be, because of mentioned crash during configuration)

i give it some mercy points, since every multi net client is appreciated.

oh, one thing i hate: uninstallers that request network and DNS acces. (and thereby firewall configuration)

Great interface for newbies, but the searches do not seem to give expected results. I too used this program about a year ago and was extremely happy with it, however I will continue to use kazaa lite as I get better search results and faster download times.

In terms of returning relevant results from queries, XoloX is superior to LimeWire, BearShare, among others, as far as the gnutella network is concerned In fact, I have a higher degree of success finding what I am looking for with this particular program than the competition. However, XoloX is CPU cycle intensive, and is plagued with stability issues on Windows 2000 and XP machines (e.g. numerous access violations), hence my rating of "3."

I have full faith and confidence that the shortcomings described above will be resolved in the very near future. XoloX is very much worth a serious look!

Not even close to Limewire, and what an ugly looking programme it is.

The early version was fine but it seemed to worsen with newer versions. Very unstable and crash prone. Hope they can revive it. Shareaza still rules.

XoloX isn't as powerful as other Gnutella clients. It used to be the best program around, but that's no longer true with better clients on the block. I would suggest that anyone use the latest version of Shareaza, if you like Gnutella.

I love p2p programs as they give people freedom to shate files.......
however this program is useless i searched for stuff on it useing my 56k lots of keywords and end up geting 0 results.
It needs some work.....
I will keep my eye on this one as i used the old version of this program a year ago and it was great however this new release is left to be desired... but its back to kazaa for now.

Combine an obnoxious interface that seems geared to newbies with an ad banner and what were, for me, consistently fruitless searches, and you come up with a useless client. Both WinMX and Shareaza are much better.
