This beta version works really well.
The tech support at RegOrganizer is oustanding and they are committed to providing a superior product.

This Beta hangs up on my Vista (first time for Reg Organizer). I had to revert back to v4.2. I'll wait for the full release this time.

The program still is great so I still give it a 5, but better pass on this beta release.

youd think that a one-click registry cleaner as thorough as this would cause problems at some point...but reg organizer has done a wonderful job of keeping my system stable. automatic cleanup FTW!

This Beta version is a bit quicker than the previous release. When working with the registry, I prefer that the program take some time to do a good job. Those free cleaners that work in a flash make me nervous.

This program has never messed up my registry or caused a malfunction on my Vista OS. Once a week cleaning puts some snap back into the system.

This is best registry program I found... and I looked at lots of them. It is, perhaps, more power than some people need.

The registry clean-up is comprehensive and accurate. I particularly like that it can optimize the registry.

The "undelete" feature (which allows the user to completely remove a program from the file system AND the registry), is excellent, but slow-- but it needs to be.

This program is well worth it.

This a good pieces of software, and it's actually pretty useful. The only downside with almost all registry editors is the inability to show keys as folders in the right side of the exploration pane just the way Registry Workshop does. If Reg Organizer could do that this would a solid 5.

There is software and there is well written software. This product falls into the latter category. As a software developer, I like to believe that I am hyper critical of anything I evaluate. As such, this is a nice piece of software; taking a number of functions and capabilities usually found in multiple pieces of software and putting all in one place. Bravo guys (and gals)! Nice intuitive interface along with an effective piece of software. I will be adding this one to my personal tool kit.

I wanted to buy this program, but since I use a yahoo e-mail address exclusively, I cannot order it!

I have a comcast e-mail address I have never touched or looked at, why should I have to change the way I check for my e-mails? Oh well, I saved $39.00 by NOT being able to buy this.

Update 11/16/2007

I had gotten an e-mail from the company giving me a work-around to the problem. I bought it later this afternoon with no problems! Thanks Chemtable!
From all the registry programs I have used, this is by far the best one I have seen! I'm very happy with it.

it used to be you had to either be VERY careful with cleaning the registry, or just stay away from it altogether.

...well, ive been using reg organizer for awhile:
1. click "automatic cleaning"
2. click "start cleaning"
3. click "remove all entries"
4. done.

crap cleaner on a daily basis, reg organizer once every week or two. havent reformatted my comp in months and still runs like new.

Still the best. Never causes a problem even in Vista. I do a lot of work on photos and when they get moved around to different folders, traces of their previous positions are left in the registry. Reg Organizer cleans those out by the hundreds. I use it once a week. The computer is snappier after a cleaning. The program gets better with every release. It does much more than just clean too.

One of the safest registry-cleaners in VISTA or XP
I bought & used it carefully the last few years. Read the extensive version notes for this release,
and use it only if you have stubborn uninstalls.Be
careful with aggressive cleaners like "RegSeeker".
Alot of softwares like Nero Premium and C-Tube TV now limit their re-installations, so if some poor registry cleaning means you have do clean installs
with reformatting and software reinstallation you could be out of luck if Nero wont let u reregister

"Clean house: My favorite utility for Registry cleaning is ChemTable's Reg Organizer; see FIGURE 3). The tool helps you examine all of your startup applications, file types, and other specific trouble spots. The program also has a fabulous search-and-replace function. You can either perform an automatic cleanup if you're not in a hands-on mood, or scrub the Registry manually. The bad news? The application is $30."

Why do I keep buying good programs, while KP time after tieals the software! "Tester"- my ass!!

Hello madcats:
Please allow people to test a restricted software with a key, *BEFORE* you pay for a 'unknow' tool. During my search for software i detect, that a lot of software authors distribute software WITHOUT locked functions. It includes ONLY restriction like "30-day trial period". During this time you can use all, really all functions without any restrictions. RegOrganizer don't allo all this test; meaningful testing is only possible with a key. Or do you bought a car without a 'testrun' ;-)

Can we hope for a new temp. reg key?
I ask, because this sharewareversion has the same restrictions like the previous version.
If you not use a key, it is really useless to test it. A reasonable test is then not possible, because important functions not work without a key - you can call it not 'shareware' - better is 'crippelware'.

After Installation and enter the temp. regist-key a protection fauld create.
The shareware don't create this mistake, it comes after enter the key.

The following is found fault with again also in this version:

-The temporary reg. key not works again !
-Then, in this situation you can not test ALL functionally, serviceably function. They are all disabled. Why you supposed to download a (Shareware)-Software, where the author lock the most functions ???
Sorry, I can not understand this behavior, to 'bolt out' important parts of a software, if you use it in a TRIAL-period.

Nice new interface. The auto registry clean function seems much faster. Too bad people are rating this program based on their frustration with the trial. If you own it, it works great.

Temp. key not works; in the testperiod a lot of important functions are disabled. Therefore you can not test this version with all possible things!!
I agree: Support is not good, the author send no answer.

Most functions are disabled in the trial-version.
Therefore is a real test not possible. At this period the "temporarly" key not works again. New testers are helpless, since the code has not a function any longer.

I've used Reg Org for over a year and I depend on its performance and reliability. It provides automatic repair before you delete. It can be used to uninstall software and their registry strings. Advanced users will enjoy it's rich features.

I have not luck with it. New-installation don't work again - accept not the temp. beta key.
A few days ago i buy TuneUp Utilities 2006 (only 19,90 Euro). Same functions like Reg Organizer, but without limited functions in the shareware status and support in German. They make special prices for students too.

Trial version has strong restrictions again. Most functions not work here! After the update from Beta1 -> Beta2 the temp.-registerkey not work.
Therefore I will delete this software and search for other shareware, that has only time-limited restrictions.
You must allow the user, that he can test ALL functions (for a short time) without "crippling" of functions.

I tried the tool with the reg. key and it worked well. However, I think this is either the most aggressive tool I've found to clean up your resgistry (I even fear that some keys to clean could affect my system!)

I still cannot find a tool of this kind that can trully manage actually necessary keys (and not remove them!) and identify the unnecessary ones.

So far I continue testing Reg Organizer, CCleaner, Registry Mechanic and ASO tools.

I test this beta7 version too.
The described problem exists further. The programm works only in the shareware-modus; many functions are strongly reduced or not active.
For example it is not possible to clean the registry with it.

If you enter this key, it means that the key was accepted. But after the next start the software create a message like "Period is over".
Please can you create a new key.

Very good and extrimely powerfull registry tool. I've been through many of them and this is cream of the crop on par with jv16.

Now I don't think it's fare to give program a low rating just beacuse it's not free. It's up to author how to market his work. It's OK not to buy it but one shouldn't trush it on this grounds only.

Information from developers:

Temporary registration key only for BetaNews users can be downloaded from:

http://www.chemtable.com...s/special/regon_bin.zip

To get Reg Organizer fully-functional for some period of time you have to extract and place the regon.bin file to the folder where Reg Organizer is installed (\Program Files\Reg Organizer by
default).

A dreadful interface, there are large windows everywhere when in use. It is impossible to say whether it works or not as it is non functional. It does seem thorough however, trawling up past dead items from my registry, sadly as I could not actually delete them I don't know how "safe" this program is. I do think the author has some audacity as for payment for this unfinished program.

Interesting application with many reg cleaning functions. Unfortunately it has very amateurish and cluttered user interface (IMHO). I'm using many registry cleaning apps and this has almost any feature they have but i cannot trust it (at least for the moment)

Sorry-but i do not support "Crippleware". This program has not all functions - they are locked at the shareware version.
So i can not tested ALL functions :-(
I think it was better, that the author mak a time limited function (e.g. 15 days). But disabled functions...that was not a good idea from him.
I harm, don't know now whether all functions work correctly at my PC ?

Not Good.
Uninstall leaves all entries of context menu...and I must
delete these entries manually.
It also disables Merge entry from context menu...and simple
merge requires to use this utility. This is very bad.
All you need is (1) Double click reg --> Automatic Edit
(2) If reg must be imported, merge...That's all.
