When You have a Youtube address like http://www.youtube.com/....... just add pwn before Youtube like this: http://www.pwnyoutube.com/....... ! No need of any programs. You can download the video directly to Your harddrive as flv or as mp4. |

This program is limited in sites you can download from. If you use Firefox & get the download helper & converter plug-in you don't need this program at all. Why pay for something to get more access and settings, when you can to it for free with Firefox. |

The downloader is great but not very good. Plus, the light only downloads Youtube vids into MPEG2 and you need to activate the Xvid codec. I'll think I find another Youtube downloader like freeware that's better than this. |

There were two versions of 3.48 one of which installs xvid without so much as a warning. One is 1.58mb and the one in question is 2.31mb. Now I see this latest version is also the larger size. Would have a 5 from me were it not for this. |

This program worked flawlessly for me. All the videos I downloaded onto my computer from YouTube were playable and was converted into the format I wanted. I was so impressed with this application that as soon as I got done using it I went ahead and wrote about it on my blog right away! Kudo to the developer! |

What an ugly gui :) Do a google search for plugins for the web browser of your choice and you'lll find a few free ones. For Firefox I like the free version of Download Helper. Then google Super video converter, it's freeware use it to convert the flv files to anything you like Mpg, Mp4, avi, divx, xvid and much more |

as mentioned, I bought the retail version of this program, run it and it was ok however not as fast as the free version. Additionally, the following month I ran it again and got an error message. If you must use this program, snag the Free Edition dont buy this its riddled with problems. |

Most of the rippers require NetFrameWork. That could be a reason it doesn't work for some members. I use Youtube Grabber from Codecentral, works also and has a mpgconverter, requires NetFrameWork 2.0. Youtube Grabber has a bug : you must restart the app for every new videofile or you will get the first one instead. Everytime you rip a videofile from youtube-> change the name get_video AND add the extension .flv yourselve! |

Don't know bout you alls, but clipfisher, downloads from various video sites. If you don't like to pay for stuff and like a free version, then try clipfinder. Saves to .wmv, from .flv. Use to use it, but sense I found clipfinder, and clipfisher. It's a neat little program, but it is very limited. |

It's a neat little program, but sort of limited when compared to alternatives out there in that it only works with the two biggest sites. I use the DownloadHelper plugin for Firefox to snag online videos, and it works great with less effort and on almost every site I've tried. Standalone programs like this do, however, have the advantage of being able to save and convert to alternative media formats like .mpg and .avi, which I don't really need. DownloadHelper and its ilk only save to .flv format, though there's no quality loss that can be incurred by conversion when you just rip the flash video straight to disk. Just something to keep in mind. |

Good program, however the last version failed to download any videos. Seems to be OK now. I would like to see a list of changes on BetaNews when they release an update though. |

I just started using this and it works great. I have Vista and there are no problems for me. I don't see any ads on it and I have the current version. Highly recommended program. |

this thing does not work on vista, unless i'lm completly retarded i just used URLsnooper and just download w/ browser :-) this thing kept saying "no file to download" after putting the direct link :-/ |

Strangely, not a single review since this went from freeware to a freeware or pay version, with so many ads on the sponsor's site, that you can't tell the ads from the local site links. I'm sticking with the "old" version. |

This version works for me...also one thing that works is to use URLSnooper to find out the direct url to the video and then download it with extension flv. |

Just tried it and I found the fact that it converts, on the fly, from FLV to AVI very useful. It worked almsot flawlessly but I wonder where the problem really was. I used to use YouTube_Grabber that suddenly stopped working. I used to listen to the video while doing the download and I had no problem but with this one it would seems its downloading too fast?:P Because the video stopped playing and the download messed up. By the way, I noticed the download bar seems to have three colours? Do each color relate to the format of the file you chose to convert to? Anyway, I give it a five. |

Downloaded it. Installed it. Worked fine. No crapware or any other probs. Anything below a 4 rating here is someone who hasn't used this or already has tons of spyware on there pc that doesn't allow them to use this properly. |

I love it. It works great and is easy to use. It does what it claims to do. It's not designed to be the ultimate video downloader. It works with YouTube and that works for me. |

@Notreallyhere: Don't give something a rating of "1" just because there's something wrong with your computer. I seriously double anyone would release software like this if the audio didn't work at all. Try un-mute on your sound. ANYWHO! This program worked just fine for me. And, duh, YouTube video quality does suck but didn't we already know that? Come on people. Please. |

It is what it is and does what it says. Unfortunately Youtube video sucks quality wise and that's what you're gonna download with this. I recommend veoh.com and with their downloader you can download the video's in full quality the way the original uploader had it (even though the files are bigger). 4/5 for this because it's still a good app if you like Youtube so much. @Notreallyhere Check out and make sure you have the correct codecs. Audio and video errors is not the fault of this program. |
| PicAFlic | Apr 24, 2007 | 2.2 | ![]() 3 out of 5 |
Nice job being a sellout and put spyware in your software. Now, I know you can un-click the box and it won't be installed, but I just think personally that anyone who even has that option stews pretty low. And that's why I gave it a 3. It's still a great program, but having the toolbar knocked it down from a 5 to a 3. |
