Unfortunately, comments from kindbud1 and twosheds are quite typical for people with stereotyped thinking.
PicturesToExe is really great and useful program. I use it for almost 10 years, and I thank its author - Russian programmer Igor Kokarev - again and again. Just try it!

This program has been around for a long time. I looked to see when I originally bought it but couldn't find the receipt. I believe it was about 1999 or so. In any event, it is a very easy to use and well-done program. An "old reliable".

Kindbud, that was unkind. Every slideshow making program I know has an option to put the show in an exe format. Very common.

Did you try this program before write this?

You can create and burn DVD-Video disc in PicturesToExe Deluxe 5.0 No need to create EXE files.

Try to find another program which will allow to use Pan/Zoom effects with sharp picture and smooth playback in real time.

yes, this is a HORRIBLE idea!

the author must be either:
a. very stupid
b. some kind of malware writer/distributor seeking to lull people into a false sense of security regarding .exe files

A disastrous idea - getting people used to running EXE files to see pictures is just asking for trouble.

I am a semi-professional photographer. I used to make slideshows (and TV) for living. I'm now retired, and make slideshows purely for fun.

I have tried MANY softwares such as this one. I tried the demo version, then decided to buy the full version (including full updates!). I found out that P2E (Picture to EXE) is one of the easiest to use. Synchronize music with slides, picture zoom in-out, package it in a "ready-to-use" EXE file. Well, it has many features offered by much more expensive similar products.
I give it a 10.... err, I mean a 5! ;-)

I haven't actually downloaded this, so I rated it a 3, so as not to throw things off a lot.
I can pretty much do all that this can with IrfanView, and it's a freeware download! Perhaps the screenmaking part isn't quite as good, but hey, not too shabby for a freeware program. ( IrfanView)

Hey, silly critics! First take a closer look at the program, and only after that - criticize. Do you really think that author is so stupid to make a useless (and dangerous) proggy? PicturesToExe is much more powerful program than simple converter images to executable files. Just take a look - and you (maybe) realize that you can see dull-witted people in the mirror.

Cool, another program I can bind a trojan to! j/k It's a good program but the programmer should have known he would be ridiculed for this...

This may be convenient for newbie idiots, who don't know an image file from a text file and would just have to run the .exe. BUT.. what a way to spread more viruses, eh? Even if one of the .exe's did come from a trusted source, it's still a little disturbing having to run an .exe just to view a bunch of pics. Power-users will probably hate this thing. :)

Just because a review means to look over something, does not mean EVERYONE should. If someone would not use the program in the first place, why should they review it? "This program is useless [because I do not use anything like this]" review is pointless. Whiner? Why would I even care? It is not my program, I am not whining, I am just pointing out that the person saying stupid things is an idiot.

Very good program. I don't think it is designed to distribute pictures to those without MS Paint (like a Self-Extractor is distributed to those without WinZip), but instead a handy utility to create things like Screen Savers. Perhaps a more appropriate description and/or title would have avoided this confusion? ...Oh and the review writer below should check out http://www.dictionary.com to clarify the meaning of 'review', and then head on down to http://www.whiner.com.au, instead of making an absolute &^#$^% out of him(/her?)self.

how about you cry us a river too? if you do not have a use for the program why are you rating it? I do not rate tampons, because I am a guy. Me rating tampons makes no sense. The program does what it is supposed to. Unless you have a BUG or other such problem you need to stop whining and go away.

I don't accept 'candy from strangers' but if this exe came from a trusted source I would run it. But you limit the picture's utility when you package it like this. If the recipient wants to use part of the picture in a collage, or whatever, they cannot because it is not a jpeg image. It is an exe with a propietary format that art programs don't understand. It would be best if you wrote a viewer with a batch mode. Then the pictures are intact.

You guys have problems. Are you suggesting that NOBODY on the internet will run a .exe ? Not even if sent from a trusted source with an explanation (such as these are the pictures from our trip). You should all go back to your school work and leave this developer alone.

It is not fair to give a program a "1" because YOU do not have a use for it.. it is not like people would REALLY send out their pictures as .exe instead of .jpg. That is why there is .jpg and .gif, because .bmp are large and so would the .exe

Combined with our Kodak DC-290 camera, this is a great program to make slide shows from photo expeditions. Made one for a niece visiting from New England and she took it home to show the family. Keep it up.

I agree a lot of people wont accept an exe file. However there could be uses for visual presentations that u could take to show customers aswell as just having a few photo's rotating

"who would belive that a exe wasn't a trojan?"

Uh, maybe someone who virus scanned it or who isn't stupid and knows how to uninstall a trojan?

It's a pretty nice program, as long as u use it only for urself, dont even bother trying to send ur "exe" pictures to anyone on the net...

The problem with trojans and viruses is common for all Windows' programs, not only for presentations created by PicturesToExe. You can get a trojan with any EXE file, so does it mean that you shouldn't download anything? Moreover, it's assumed that you'll send e-mails with presentations to your good friends, who can trust you (of course, it's really strange to get an EXE from unknown person). Not all peoples are bad, and anyone feels better if he keeps in mind good thoughts (like the author of PicturesToExe, who created very nice and useful utility). I loved PicturesToExe at first sight, at least because of it's the only program of this class.

Well We can say this is a good program. BUT.. no one will ever trust to download exe files for the pictures. It sounds like BULLSH*T and filled up with trojans n stuff.. Personally if someone want to send me exe pictures i wouldnt accept to download it or run it. cuz of bad experiences. Just my 2 cents..

I would like to comment on the program - it is no doubt the best $15 I have ever spent on the internet. A great program - just what I was looking for.
