another adobe product that is unecessary and slows down your computer. not sure why developers use this.

YES!!! Let's install pointless unneeded software that requires lots of endless security updates. Yea, that's the ticket.

All I know is this. The only program I have that uses this, is my Comcast caller ID for pc. And it crashes more the the waves at the ocean.

"exciting new way to engage customers"? Whatever. Typical team player, yes man babbling. About as bad as the Jack In The Box CEO saying their restaurants offer an exiting atmosphere to dine in. Yes, that CEO actually said that on an interview once. Have yet to find a reason to have Adobe Air. So much for my 'exciting' experience.

Adobe AIR makes it easy to write cross-platform applications. Given it is an offline runtime, which is not about running within a browser sandbox, it is just as secure as any offline applications like Word, Excel. Whoever complains about the security should understand the nature of technology before getting concepts mixed up.

I love the description, it tells you nothing. It's just some stupid marketing babble.

That said what is the point of this junk. They bundle it with all their products now whether you want it or not, install it without asking, and NOTHING uses it.

Like most of the runtimes that are supposed to provide a stable platform: HISTORICALLY INSECURE.
