Publisher's Description
Dashboard is an application that resides at the side of your screen, similar to the "Sidebar" component shown in the Longhorn video. It is a host for interchangeable components. Through these components, it allows you to have access to any kind of information or resources you might want, on your screen, all the time.

Just to clear some things up: The name is original. It was decided on before Apple or Microsoft had used it. The app was even around before Longhorn's sidebar.
Overall, this is the best sidebar program out for my needs.

I think that dashboard has made some good improvements since the last beta. It has a few bugs, but a lot of the ones from the old version was patched. Great choice again fileforum.com! :)

A good program heading in the right direction.
Actually, in the US, a 'dashboard' is the place in our cars that has all of the controls and monitors. Has been for nearly 100 years...

Lot of potential, but also quite a few bugs.
All the components need to actually function. Then the whole things needs to use less resources.
If the development team has the time to put into this, it could be really good.
Right now, Desktop Sidebar is far superior.

I would like to sh-t on blackcherry's comment relating to Dashboard Confessional.
I do not see how that band relates to computer software at all. Dashboard, the name, is from, yes, Apple's Dashboard and Microsoft's Dashboard.
Of couse the name is not original.

This has been out long before Apple's Dashboard. It's been out since long before Longhorn screenshots started leaking. It's NOT COPYING ANYTHING.
And great review... giving it a one because it shares a word with a band you hate.

and yet another apple application and title trying to be mimicked, apple already has the dashboard and all you have to do is press a simple key and it slides out with whatever widget you want to run on it, from ebay items to up to date currency changes to whatever you want. good concept but apple has already claimed that realm, but it will be interesting to see how far they will take this imititation

Its a well written program and is nice to look at. I think people who can afford to waste that much screen space though really have too much time on their hands and don't do anything remotely productive with their computer.

pohlman: it should soon be able to be minimized on command when needed, probably next beta, and resizing is being discussed as well.
