Publisher's Description

ExamDiff Pro provides a simple means of performing visual file and folder comparisons in Windows. It features a double-pane view that allows for side-by-side comparisons, with color-coded line numbers indicating whether each line is added, deleted, or changed. For folder comparisons, just double-click a file to jump to a side-by-side file comparison. You can easily edit files either using the built-in editor, or the text editor of your choice by selecting one of the numerous toolbar buttons. ExamDiff Pro contains a substantial number of options to establish its behavioral characteristics. Other features include recursive comparisons, highlighting differences down to the level of words or characters, ability to compare binary files, custom text and HTML reports, search-and-replace (with regular expression support), shell-extension support, reation of directory snapshots for later comparison, word wrapping of long lines, full Unicode support, and custom color and font settings.

This is a great tool! It has every feature you could want in a file comparison tool.

In response to constust, you could always use the Merge hotkeys - CtrlF9 and CtrlF10. I think it's much more convenient than having an obnoxious arrow pop up at every difference.

If only all these diff programs would have a merge arrow next to each difference like Compare It! does.

Having to right click and then click again or move my mouse away from the area I'm working up and go to a toolbar is retarded.

Until something so obvious is added I think they are crap.

ExamDiff Pro is a great tool, in my opinion, which has many features other products of its kind don't have. I have searched for a good diff tool for a long time, and with ExamDiff Pro I believe I have found it. Especially interesting is its support for plug-ins, which essentially enables you to do pretty much anything you want with this program (if you are a good enough programmer =) ). Version 3.4 looks especially nice, replacing the old, retro-looking buttons with more modern 32-bit color ones, and adding some nifty new features (the ability to ignore comments is a personal favorite - I work with several different languages, all with different comments, so it's a good thing Examdiff lets you specify which comments you wish to ignore).

PS Please ignore the previous review, which is clearly an advertisement for a competitive product, and thus should be deleted in accordance with the Fileforum review policy.

WinMerge is much better and they actively update it AND it is open source...

In order to get the better features of ExamDiff you have to pay which is fine but why should you?

KDiff is also another good tool and it checks 3 files diffs at a time...
