Publisher's Description

Fast Launcher is nice replacement for traditional Windows' Quick Launch panel and Start menu. It has several features, which make this program more useful and convenient than Quick Launch. Fast Launcher is easy to use: you need just two clicks to launch program, it allows you to divide different programs to groups, you can minimize it to tray or just hide, there are hot-keys for quick access and much more. There are also small bonuses like semi-transparency under Windows 2000/XP or screen edge snapping.

I have used just about all of the quick launchers over the past 5 years (to many to list). I build system and install quick launchers for clients. Over the past 5 years without a common PC users (like moms, kids and co-workers), like launcher like this (NOT the ones in the task bar by the clock). They like buttons, they like one clicks. SO this program does what an average person wants. Groups for organization and icons to launch there programs. This program by far is one fo the best but has a HUGE limitation. Group setup is great, the background changing is great, all the options are great. But it needs drag and drop support. Once I make a group (like Applications), I shoud be able to drag and drop my word, execl and powerpoint icons onto the the group and have the icons added. Once it can do this. It will replace all launcher I insatll on people's systems. I would also like to see the groups have an option of icon or text to represent the group. So in short, it's a great program, stable, fast, and works but needs to be a little easier to add items to groups.

Hmm :) I like such ungrounded statements. Well, tell me advantages and disadvantages of True Launch Bar in comparison with Fast Launcher! Fast Launcher is very good program and I think that you just didn't try it...

This thing stinks compared to True Launch Bar.

Not bad for a free program. It's a little awkward to add new groups and programs, but hey, it's free. There are a couple of real cheap programs that are more convenient ways to avoid the dreaded Start Button or cluttering your desktop with icons: True Launch Bar, and Blanche. Both are quick, elegant alternatives to the Start Button and Desktop clutter. Give Fast Launcher a 3 for the program and 1 bonus point for being free. (bobad@charter.net)

Version 2.0 is much better than previous one. It has almost all neccesary features, and it is very customizable.
