Publisher's Description

Freebox Jukebox is similar to the software found running in bars across the world. However it is superior in that it has support for Video (also on dual Screen), Audio and MP3+G (Karaoke). The software has a pin coded options screen to hide from users and credit support. It comes with a selection of skins and a tool to create these yourself making it fully customizable. This is not a standard media player it is designed to fully emulate a commercial jukebox and not windows media player.

It was freeware back in V2, it became $25 a copy when donations for the V3 release totalled $14 after 6 months. V2 is still freeware on the site. The current V5 is still $25 as you say.

This is -not- freeware. Granted, there are no nag screens, but after thirty minutes it shuts down. You can restart it again, but you still only get thirty minutes at a time. Please don't call this "freeware."

I just converted all my music to mp3 and saved approx. 50GB. I have about 25K songs and a touchscreen is THE best way. I would install this on a handheld if I could. I'll give it a whirl

Has anybody actually used it? Its not a Winamp clone or a mediamonkey wannabe program. Its designed as a stand alone Jukebox front end. A lot of the forum members that use it install it in wood cabinets. Its designed to run on a touch screen monitor with/without mouse support as well the author has been adding 10key support for thouse that dont want to use a trackball or mouse.

As for looks there are several downloadable skins available not included in download simply due to space and honestly after using the skin tool, which is included you can get as creative as you like.

Ive tried several Jukebox programs. For the price its simply the best. Im currently running it on a P450 with a 80gig drive and its ran flawlessly. Sure its beta, but there are nearly daily updates on the website. How many scripts like this do you know that the author wants to know your opinion and continues to add requests?

This software keeps getting better and better. I have one suggestion - scrap the GUI and start afresh. I'm not much of a designer, but I know ugly when I see it. Just make the buttons smaller and less busy-busy, and find colors that work together. Also, align the controls and maintain some sort of consistent apparence across the face of it. Make sure there's a little bit of space at the edges so it doesn't cause migraines. Maybe limit yourself to two or three fonts, too. Otherwise, a great app. Keep it up!

this is a great application for a standalone digital jukebox. the learning curve is very fast, so i never have to tell my friends how to use it. updated frequently, and great support via forums, keep up the good work barcrest!

I fixed the UI with some professionally designed skins from FINK! media. Also the memory usage is down slightly and it's a fair bit quicker now. Any issues pop over to our forum and let me know.
