The application's homepage http://www.gmailnotifier.com/ opened a phishing site called http://www1 dot safeconnection31 dot co dot cc which diagnosed my computer as being infested by at least half a dozen worms.
What is this, a joke ?

Good idea. TERRIBLE realisation. One example: I have GN automatically start up with my windows. BUT if there is no internet connection (which is almost ALWAYS the case, since windows needs a bit of time to establish it) the program 1) shows an error message 2) closes up after you press OK on this message. What kind of idiot came up with that?

The program works very well. But I had to uninstall it because it does not give you any options regarding disabling saving the password for your account. I emailed to author about this and he did not indicate that this feature would be included anytime soon. Once this security issues is fixed I would use it again.

Still needs some work but overall I think the creator will try to make this a great product. Contact him, he will explain his work

Nice upgrade to the original gmail notifier, two things I'd like to see, WHY does the ICON flash like 2-3 minutes after I open an account to check gmail?
I'd like the notifier to check for NEW email like every 15 to 30 seconds to see the flashing icon for like 3 minutes with no new email after I have read all emails is CRAZY!
I have some original WAV notifications is there a way to preserve those WAV's during the install? That would be a nice feature, just an idea!

Hey the changes in this NEW version are GREAT!! I've been in contact with the devolper of this software and he wants to hear from everyone on what they want to see in his Notifier software. I have given several suggestions and he has acted on some almost immediately and has taken some as a too do list. *IF* you want to have him add something you want in a notifier email him at gnotifier1@gmail.com! The developer does NOT work for Google but is VERY SAAVY about GMAIL.
My main request is a "Slide Up" (like the original notifier has) when I'm working on the computer so I can see who the E-Mail is from & even a snippet of it without cliking on the notifier icon!
Download this notifier no matter what browser you use you won't be sorry!!!

OK this gmail notifier is improving quickly in my estimation. The author doesn't work for Google and has fixed many of the annoyances in the last version I had version 1.0.0.20. I hope the author keeps releasing updates because Google never made improvements on their original GN.

At first I thought this 2nd generation gmail notifier was and improvement over the original because it could monitor multiple gmail accounts and it CAN. The downside is it lacks two important features the original had. Plus a couple of annoyances which will be fixed soon. Annoyance 1, that on reboot it opens and doesn't silently just open an icon in the systray. Annoyance 2 after I read all the mails in my gmail account the tray icon continues to blink like I have more unread mail when I don't

the original had a window which displayed who an email was from when you were working on the computer. the author here calls that a "snippet" and told me in an email they MIGHT look into doing that. Might when the original did it??????? what am I missing here the 2nd version is worse than the 1st version?

the original notifier made gmail the DEFAULT Mailto: program and it worked using this 2nd version of notifier clicking on email links on webpages opens outlook email, that sucks!! I just discovered this bug this afternoon and let the author know about it

awesome app but missing one feature (or i missed it). wish there was a way to open the the account (or at least load the gmail page) by clicking on something in the app.

updated: now a 5 rating. found the information on the website on how to go into gmail directly (ctrl+click the account).

Hey Dink,

I need to add to my review after you added info, your response only has to do with a FireFox Addon, this Notifier is NOT Web browser specific, I use IE8 & now mostly Chrome, the product you mentioned does not work with either of those, U need to compare apples to apples, NOT browser specific addon's which everyone doesn't use!!!

In my opinion this is a GREAT improvement over the original GMail notifier, I have 3 accounts & this allows to to monitor all 3.

The author is only one person, I made a couple of suggestions VIA E-Mail and he is already working on one of them & has responded is less than 6 minutes to my E-Mails.

The updates will be automatic with the option to install, the original GMail notifier had very FEW updates if any!!
