Publisher's Description

HTTrack is an offline browser utility that allows you to download a website from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting html, images, and other files from the server to your computer. It arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the "mirrored" website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. It can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. It is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

It works , but the interface settings need some restyling ,
very poor thing , it wouldn't much work to transform it in a powerful instrument under the average user profile .

It's a good app. It does the same as Lots of the Crawlers & Bots.
Most people would want to use This and Similar Apps to scrape the
Web for Media. A lot of similar Apps will respect (Robots.txt) &
Certain Apps will allow you to configure your Bot to Ignore Meta
data, Tags, Robots.txt etc. If you don't understand the WebSite
strategies or HTML code h**p://www.w3schools.com/ I would suggest
to read the Helpfiles & do as much research as possible before
using Crawlers, Sniffers, Bots. h**p://www.httrack.com/html/abuse.html

5* For being highly configurable & a favorite.

If ya wanna sniff media. Some OK stuff in this package: h**p://www.nirsoft.net/network_tools.html ... (~_^)

All "singin n Dancin" with a fancy UI. But It'll cost ya.

It generally works, if you manage to understand it's one-hundred options (default settings are not usable for me). Also, user interface is from stone age of computing, I remember this application looking the same 10 or 12 years ago.

Excelent software. Works well, many options what files to download, from which part of web.

Sometimes, for a simple downloads I prefer - Wget for Windows (http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/wget.htm).

You might want to consider the fact some sites simply may not like web crawlers regardless. something doesn't work is a lame review

Crap!

Whatever you try, there's always something not working.
No wonder the creator advises people to use some 5 year old version.

As far as I'm aware, the ability to "get html files first" is an option.

Generally a good software.

Unfortunately, it shares the same fate with majority of off-line browsers by being shut-out by many web-sites because it does a depth-first download instead of current document-first followed by depth. By doing depth-first the app randomly download items and will appear as a intruder/scanner/etc ... and many web-sites will shut you off.

This is the best website-copier I tested so far. Better than at least four others :) Two I still remember the name of, and that is Teleport (just sucks) and the firefox-extension "DownThemAll!". I still use "DownThemAll!", but not for ripping websites, more for downloading alot of files from one site. I wish I could download links hard-coded into flash-sites by just ripping them, but as far as I know that would rely on the ripper to decompile the swf-files.

anomoly

It does have a 'check updates' option but only gave me an 'unknown version' until I installed this. Then it said 'latest'. Still not sure on how to narrow down a how-to or such without dragging in the entire server but you gotta love it.

My uncle commutes by train each morning and he tried using his web browser offline mode "Save web page as" to view his favourite sites on the train. Not so good. So I told him "try HTTrack, it's magic". Now he updates overnight while he sleeps and he believes in magic every morning. Alpha is the lowest end of development. For a stable version click the author link on the left hand side of this page.

The issue is as we know almost all forum/bbs sites require a login, although I input my username/password in the porject options provisioing, I still got all posts with 'no right to view without login'. Can anybody tech me the tips? Thanks a lot!

Do it say "Beta"?
Then why complain that it does not work perfectly?
Report bugs, wait on fixes.

Geez!

started off using this program and all went well... espically for free... then after using it on a site for 2 days, i started it up and all my download had gone, it started from the beginning...

So I can only give it 1 star because it is free...

I found the best to be...MetaProducts offline explorer... better interface and can configure what folders you want to download.

This is a great offline browsing tool. I wonder if you could use it for recovery/back-up, for example if your server were to crash or you needed to move your site to new server could you use this utility to move your site...?

5, just for being free. Otherwise I can't see anything in the Windows world beating Teleport Pro/Ultra in this (otherwise wget rules the world :)

CyberHobo

Very efficient application. However, I cannot give it 5 stars because it has some minor drop down menu bugs in it.

The best offline browser utility that currently exists. Free. Can be configured to an extreme degree. The list goes on.

zonaxbox

It is fast and efficient. I have only noted it to be a bit slow when doing sites that rely heavily on flash. Other wise a 5/5 in my book

Yes, just tried it, and it's everything it says it is. Fast, efficient, and FREE !! Perfect for d/l existing websites that you don't have ftp access for. (I help folks out who started out their domains with cheap, junk, online site builders, and who wish to use their existing look to transfer to another server)

The interface may take you a couple minutes to figure out, but once you get it, there's really no other choice for downloading the entire contents of websites.

This is a really good program. Must have if you want to download an entire site to your harddrive.
