The standalone program that runs via a USB stick is most usefully.

Excellent program, and keeps getting better. The only program that's close is HWMonitor64, which runs from 1 file. That gives HWMonitor64 an advantage for flash drive use. I know that HWInfo32 works with Sandybridge, not sure about HWMonitor64, so for now I'm using both!

I still cannot understand why it cannot detect unknown devices.

In its current form its rather useless - I can open Windows Device Manager and find out everything I'm interested in.

Fantastic program. And YES, it does what it says, and YES it is COMPLETELY PORTABLE IF YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
@jackmehoff: I agree. NOOBS are the only ones who will complain because they DO NOT read instructions and SETTINGS.

@Blaxima, and @Cionno: IT IS PORTABLE. you VERY SIMPLY just have to set config correctly. In the area for persistent driver, just UNCHECK the box. SIMPLE ENUF 4 U?

Now then, this program is simply awesome, it gives a boar load of hardware info. Basically it is a hardware junkies best friend.

Very cool piece of software! Kinda reminds of Aida from back in the day, gives you the important stuff (cpu type, hard drive info, video card, memory, etc) on the very first dialogue. Gives detailed info about other hardware and etc on other dialogue. Nice...

Lots of info = good

BUT

When something claims to be portable then I will hold it to that. This is just one of the reasons I hate Mozilla stuff because their products install folders all over a system but this is even worse! It loads running processes in the background of the system you try it on that ALWAYS load and for what? Some info? No thanks, there are many other options for that that do not behave so intrusively.

tried portable version, it installed a driver pointing to folder where it was first time it was launched, this caused system to slow down and many drvier errors in event log, this "for me" is bad

Moderately useful, however I prefer other software such as SIW. The software is easy to use and it is possible that it gives some information that SIW or other similar software does not, but I haven't found anything new here.

Evidently, the author(s) have not been developing this software for awhile, and have begun doing so again. It is worth watching as they may be able to come up with something interesting or new.

Download it and use it if you like it. It will do no harm to your computer
