Publisher's Description

Hotmail Popper is a small application that allows you to check your Hotmail account from a normal POP mail client. Unlike standard mail accounts which allow users to retrieve their e-mail through a POP mail client, Hotmail can normally only be checked on the Web, or via Outlook Express. With this program you can use your favorite POP mail client to retrieve your e-mail from your Hotmail account.

Hotmail Popper works great, but unfortunately (for us), it is no longer freeware. Just look around for freeware version 2.1.1.

I've used it with Outlook 2000 and 2003, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, and Mozilla Mail with no problems whatsoever. Even better now that it supports sending mail without specifying another smtp server. Read the readme to make sure you configure your client correctly. Excellent program, and I never have to worry about overfilling my 2mb limit since it downloads all the mail to my e-mail program and deletes it (actually puts it in the trash) from Hotmail.

I've been using this for months. It works fine with Thunderbird. Very useful!

I used this with Pegasus Mail and it worked just great. Thanks.

Version 1.02 works fine for me. I test it with Mozilla mail and when the setting "delete messages from server..." is checked in Mozilla mail, whatever file I delete from my local inbox is deleted from the Hotmail inbox when I check for new messages.

Does the job as it should do it :) Only one little disadvantage, delete mail on server doesn't work so it always will remain in your Hotmail inbox.

I got it to work with Outlook Express just fine. Great utility.

Don't bother downloading it !

I've tried it with Calypso and Pegasus Mail - neither worked.
