The MAZZTer reviewed v1.1.1.1 on Sep 25, 2006
This tool is excellent.
My only complaints:
- Tab and address bar icon always show IE icon. A favicon should still be fetched (Firefox can be used to do this, no need for IE to), and the animation in the tab for a page loading is missing.
- IE can steal keyboard focus when a page loads, even if you're in another tab. EX: Open up google.com in one IE tab and start typing in another Firefox tab. Once google loads you'll end up typing in the Search box even though you can't see it!
I recommend the following Site Filters:
- *.xbap (Windows Presentation Foundation web programs... they run great in Firefox using IETab!)
Try not to switch tabs while you are updating, this may cause Windows Update to crash.
- https:/www.windowsonecare.com/install/default.aspx?pc=Prepaid
- https:/beta.windowsonecare.com/install/default.aspx?pc=Prepaid
Windows OneCare Live installer, won't run in Firefox, same caveat as with Windows Update.

I haven't used it very much yet, since I only need an IE-based browser for work, but I already uninstalled the IE view extension in favor of this, and have begun using it for the work-related browsing I normally use Maxthon for.
If it continues to work flawlessly, Maxthon will be headed to the recycle bin.

Has worked great for me for ages....a necessity as there are still websites around that absolutely do not work in either opera or ffx due to non-compliance to standards. Remember Sliced Bread throwers, THIS IS THE ONLY REASON IE TAB EXISTS!!!!!
PS works fine in IE 7 Beta 2, and latest are great enhancements, to at least permanently hide that g-ugly IE7 hugely mousing unfriendly/inefficient interface!

On my computer this version crashes FF immediately upon launch, before the GUI even gets drawn to the screen. Hopefully when the next version comes out I can give it another 5. Even though this version doesn't work for me, I'll give it a 3 to compensate for the people who gave it a 1 just to try and flame FF.
HelgeFossmo reviewed v1.0.7.4 Preview on Jan 30, 2006
Great extension for web developers when you need to check out that IE manages to render the page properly just 1 click ;)
The MAZZTer reviewed v1.0.7.4 Preview on Jan 30, 2006
Great little tool for when you face sites with ActiveX controls (Microsoft Update) and other sites that simply refuse to work without IE and a simple UA change won't do (umm... Microsoft Update).
Only bug I've encoutered is it doesn't work with IE7b2. IE Tab hangs Firefox at about the time page rendering should begin.
Jezz_X reviewed v1.0.7.4 Preview on Jan 30, 2006
I love how all you Firefox diehards think that adding IE into it natively is the greatest thing since sliced bread so it gets a 5 just for that

In this version the back and forword buttons on the mouse function correctly. In previous versions if I used the back button, it went to the page I was on before I switched to IE.
bsr500 reviewed v1.0.7.2 Preview on Jan 28, 2006
One of the best extensions ever!.. It does have some bugs, such as ones for popups (popups get displayed a little weird,,, EG: launch.com videos).. But overall, it does exactly what I need it to do, open the (very few) IE-only pages I goto without having to launch IE. A++ Extension.

This is great to view those poorly coded pages.

Don Juan reviewed v1.0.7 on Jan 5, 2006
Love this plugin. Although it would be nice if people would just design their sites with standards support instead of just IE in mind, that way a hack like this wouldn't be necessary.
precurgent reviewed v1.0.7 on Jan 4, 2006
Useless indeed. If I want to use IE, I can simply run IE.
Who knows if this thing, by tying Firefox to MSIE, doesn't make Firefox less secure somehow?
But whatever... It drastically slows down Firefox for me, so as far as I care, it's crap.
Crispy777 reviewed v1.0.7 on Jan 4, 2006
Great little tool! I specially like the feature to 'always open this site with IE tab IE'.
I think many will get a great value of this extension specially using it on corporate intranets etc where there are custom tools built just for IE and it is a company policy to use IE for those purposes.

Hope this IE Tab release is better in all ways.
Every new release seem to bring some improvements and some problems, some of which almost seem like a regression. The earlier release (r2) didn't allow the keyboard control of Ctrl-T for new tab, which is VERY bad.

for me it's a great improvement.. one of my favorite extensions..
DACWILSOL reviewed v1.0.7 Beta 1 on Dec 19, 2005
Great improvement. IE Tab is now actually on par with Netscape 8.0.4 site control options.
lordnaastik reviewed v1.0.6.4 on Nov 30, 2005
i agree that netscape 8 is bloated. it keeps crashing and just somehow seems wrong. netscape 7 was much better and i think the best browser in the netscape line. i dunno if this extension works with netscape 7 but if it does then nothing like it. my advice go for seamonkey instead of netscape 8
DACWILSOL reviewed v1.0.6.4 on Nov 30, 2005
Note to eclipsingdivinity, Netscape 8.04 has seemless handling of sites between IE AND Gecko engine. IE Tabs is a maturing extension, but not on par with Netscape's site control functions. By default IE engine in Netscape is on but you can change it to Gecko engine and have sites that NEED to open in IE do so by tab or window. You can customize the rendering to your liking. Also Netscape is not slow and bloated. My system is a 2.60 ghz intel pentium, 512 mb ddr sdram with ultra dma 160 gb hd. I have used FF with IE tabs, but remain with Netscape, because it does a much better job at the task than IE Tabs. Netscape 8.04 is not a intrusive program and is very much worth the download.
Zodiachus reviewed v1.0.6.4 on Nov 30, 2005
Brilliant solution. Goodbye IE!
gate1975mlm reviewed v1.0.6.4 on Nov 29, 2005
WoW this is what I have been hoping for for a long time!
Now I can dump IE6 for good!
The way I would use this is use the Firefox Engine for most site. Like the adult sites but use IE engine for the safe sites. Best of both worlds. This was the one thing I liked about netscape.
There are some bugs that need to be fixed!
vfxi reviewed v1.0.6.4 on Nov 29, 2005
I would like to check it out but the only problem is that how do you install a file bearing an XPI exntension?
eclipsingdivinity reviewed v1.0.6.4 on Nov 29, 2005
Actually, don't listen to him. Netscape is a large, and slow rendering to boot. At least it has a slew of options to keep it's head above water.
Anyways, IE tab is great, but i'm waiting for the day it seemlessly integrates with Firefox so it gives users supreme convenience. This has potential to be the plugin that could really shake up the browser market. Keep going with it.
DACWILSOL reviewed v1.0.5 on Nov 12, 2005
Netscape 8.0.4 is a better handler for tabs. I use Netscape with tab browsing and site controls. Basically what IE Tabs is trying to do. Netscape has better handling of sites. I give IE Tabs a 3 because of the effort. Essentially Netscape 8.0.4 is built upon IE and Gecko. For those worried about a bloated browser and add-ons, Netscape is neither. It is fast and very customizable. Give it a try.
gawd21 reviewed v1.0.5 on Nov 11, 2005
Great extension. I am not sure as to why they deleted my last review. It was positive and had a link to get the other half of this extension that you NEED for it to work in FF 1.0.*

The MAZZTer reviewed v1.0.5 on Nov 11, 2005
Nice, but needs closer integration with the Firefox interface.
Basically what was said below, along with favorite icon support (right now it just plugs an IE icon in there), View | Source support, and the other million little tweaks that would make it a bit better and closer integrated.
Also, if you do View | Source, you see how Firefox uses the extention to interface with IE. Is this SAFE? Can ANY webpage use an embed to summon an IE window? I hope not. Then Firefox would only be as secure as the weakest link in the chain (IE) with this installed.
panic82 reviewed v1.0.5 on Nov 11, 2005

ye110mann reviewed v1.0.5 on Nov 11, 2005
I love this tab but if BetaNews is going to add Firefox extensions there are a dozen others I would also recommend. Firefox automatically updates extensions so I don't see the need of BetaNews posting updates.
