i was a fool and young once and give them money for this crap, they are history minor update once in year. Totally unreliable. I often let it download from rapidshare during nights and every morning my system was frozen. There is only 1 downloader and that is Jdownloader and its free. Its perfection.

I do not argue you guys with your ratings. IDA is a good program. It works flawlessly. However upon registering this product, I have yet to recieve my code so it be comes registered.

I registered it 3 weeks ago, and they failed to gimme a registeration number for it.

So why am I giving them a 2, sense the program is so good. Their support has failed to make the grade. I should have to keep hounding them for my registeration number.

I really can't understand all of the negative reviews I'm seeing here. I've been using IDM for more than 2 years without any problems on XP Pro SP3. It has the best organizational download capabilities I've seen, is easy to use, and very reasonable in price. No, I am not affiliated with IDM in any way except as a satisfied customer.

I've been using IDA fr two years WITH RAPID SHARE. Obviously if you don't have e a premium account it won't work. But if you have a Premium Account and PUT you log-in in the aoo and PW it is faultless. I have never had a problem unless the app has been removed. Same with MegaUpload,

I have NO idea what these folks are referring to unless they do not have an account.

They are lying that download from rapidshare has been improved there is not possible to download from rapidshare without problems. After 10-15 minuts downloading from rapishare my comp is going crazy,CPU 100%, there is not enough system resource to open a folder! There is no response from them even I wrote many emails and post it on they forums. This new version is just more pretty then the former one (they did not updated they softwer for 1 year!)

I have the problem with ida 5.2 and the same problem with 5.5beta! After 10-15min of downlaoding files from rapidshare IDA use CPU 100%, video playback is krk, grhgg, pckhrdz..... mouse pointer is freezing, after restarting my comp icons on desctop is not in mine order.....!
I`m registered user and I adore IDA and I don`t want to use free download menager but I must, what`s the problem!? Please help... Am I the only one who can`t use IDA with rapidshare?

During the last 2 years I've been trying off and on to get this software to work... and I've given up now. The installer won't even start on my new Vista laptop. There's ALWAYS new and old unfixed bugs with every release. On occasion it works very well, speed is good and it usually gets the correct download link thru form buttons and unusually difficult html pages. The most annoying bug is that at least once a day it will seriously put a bug up my computers "inner workings". What happens is that I can't browse the internet (getting only blank pages), programs won't start, can't even start taskmanager to kill the ida.exe process! It won't download from https sites without file errors and it WILL corrupt that 1Gb media file your downloading! I've been posting at the support forum, but without response. I actually bought the software in sept 2006 because of it's feature that can name the download folder to the current date. Brilliant! If somebody knows another download manager who can do that, PLEASE TELL! I'm thru with this one!

I just want to rate it 5 and to give a thumb up for all the good works done for it. The previous release served me for more than one year as my only DM till I tried IDM and simply impressed by its speed and for about 2 month it's been my best DM till I when I had to use a shared ADSL service and IDM had problems to download from certain links as for some links it couldn't break the links into smaller parts and keep a consistent download rate and I couldn't resolve the problem. With IDA as I tried the same links it just did as it was doing and just did it fine. Fast and reliable. Though I am using both but if you give me only one choice I will pick the IDA.

Wow it is really the best.
It has speed and quality.
You can download 1 item ore al at once are only what you like. It is really the best.
But it does not work in Opera that well. It is no problem for if you want to use a program that looks like Opera but works with IDA you can get Maxthon from www.seekload.co.nr Just click on "OBS! If you have trouble with this page or other Internet pages Click Here!" and choose "Maxthon Browser" It is Free and it works great and fast. It garente works with IDA and locks like Opera.
Problem solved.

Previously I used GetRight, however latest versions were not so satisfying for me, so I tried several alternatives. IDA is my choice:
Very nice interface and integration with browsers: works perfectly with IE7 beta, Opera 8.53, FireFox 1.5. Developer cares about user feedback and keeps improving it constantly (new features and bug fixes).
I've bought the licence for this download manager a few months ago, and I must say it really worth it.

I can't believe it! This app should be rated 4+. Superior download manager, though a bit pricey.

I can agree for the most part with the previous reviewers. This is one excellent download manager. I have never seen a download manager look, feel, and sound so good. The interface is beautiful, with great skins and looks awesome out of the box. The interface could not be any cleaner/better than it already is, and the preferences dialog is a breeze to go through and configure.

I won't go into detail about all the other wonderful features it has... but my single biggest problem with download managers is link redirection handling. IDA is no exception to my problems, unfortunately, because otherwise I would be completely hooked on IDA. It really is the nicest DL manager I've ever seen, and I have tried them all, (ReGet Deluxe, IDM (my favorite so far, because nothing handles redirected links better), Leechget, Flashget, Getright, Free Download Manager, StarDownloader Pro, etc.)

So I give it a four, because it can't handle redirected links as well as I'd like it to. Try to download any content from gamespot.com and you'll uderstand. Plus, I use Opera as my primary browser and it happens maybe once a month, (in a bad month), that I start Internet Explorer.

Someone should create a DL manager that focuses completely on alternate browser integration. All the DL managers have their main focus on IE, understandably, and that annoys me. But they have to do that, since IE is the most used browser in the world.

Anyway... unless you're like me and are having problems with just about any DL manager and link redirection, I highly advice you to check this out. You won't have to look any further after giving IDA a shot :)

It seems people(not all) on this forum, don't really know how to go abt reviewing a product.People here are biased towards reputed products and don't use their own mind to write a review.
Here's another of those products who suffers from power brand download managers.IDA,i hereby declare is the best download utility available today.Which is why i for first time bought a product online.
I am happy with the product since july'04,and proud to be it's registered user!!!!

Maybe it's time to abandon RegetDX or Getright, even my favorite IDM ?
This small gem, named Internet Download Accelerator or IDA, is the best manager ever tried before. And tried a lot, even bought many of them including some big names, like RegetDX, Getright, IDM, Mass D/L and others.
IDA is almost different than most other d/l managers, althought it has most of their features.
It's different in build quality, something most managers missed. Different in ergonomics, first manager i know with "check for updated download", a feature that saves hours of searching to seek if a remote file has been updated since last download.

IDA has excellent bandwidth control, the best ever met in any program. Not only it has fully configurable steps (hi,mid, low), but also has automation to allow IE browsing stepping down d/l throttle, and the best of all ... manual speed setting using a slider in status bar. User can easily set their d/l speed and bandwidth allocation, dynamically and in real time. Just great.

Browser integration is very good, starting from the usual click catcher, right click menu, clipboard monitoring and low level IE integration using different keys to force / ignore downloads.
It even has IE BHO toolbar and toolbutton. I don'e like such IE plugins but IDA has an option not to registered them, well done folks!
Of course it integrates well with Opera and Mozilla browsers.

IDA integration is very stable and i had no problems with WinXP autoupdates, or other issues like those with RegetDX or GetRight. The program itself looks rock solid and very fast. It comes very close in d/l speed to IDM (the fastest but ugliest in market)
IDA user interface is state of the art and our Russian friends did excellent work. Btw i prefer a little smaller dialog buttons, but that's a matter of taste.

IDA supports all kinds of servers (HTTP, FTP, HTTPS) and works with files sent be cgi scripts, asp pages or other kinds or redirection. I tried some difficult ones and worked great. No need to say that resume and multi segmented is fully supported and are fully reliable (cannot say the same for many many downloaders).

Today i've ordered my own copy from www.westbyte.com and i believe i'll not regret that. Don't know yet if their support is as good as their program but i will keep you informed on that, with later reviews.

If Westbyte people, don't "loose the ball" including skins or site managers or other useless crap, i'm sure this small gem will become the next buy for many many users.

Highly recommended !!!
