    Don't buy it, just don't. At the very least read through their forums first, because THAT is their support (yes, you pay for it but they have no support other than the forum). And if you say anything negative about the product on the forum they will threaten to remove even THAT support (the CEO emailed me and threatened to do just that). The product is buggy, and has known issues with regard to compatibility with virus protection (read the forums, they talk about it all over the place).

    I dealt with J. River ages ago when we tried to use some of their networking products. We quickly figured out that support was NOT one of their priorities (nor was standards adherence). If you run into trouble with any of their products you're effectively on your own unless you are (a) one of handful of major enterprises they depend on to survive, or (b) you raise the specter of legal action and have the means to back it up.

    Wow, you guys sure are witty!

    Actually, I used JRMC for years. I first registered it (when it was Media Jukebox) back in 2002. Is that using it enough for you?

    I post brief and snarky reviews here because I just don't care enough to post descriptive, detailed criticisms of the program. That has no relation to how I posted in the J. River forums. In actuality, I posted in exactly the appropriate manner.

    And I did not give up on JRMC easily. I tried for months to get my problem resolved. I kept bumping my thread and providing more details as I found them. But no one took any interest in providing any real assistance.

    I totally agree ghammer. The only ones who post 1 star reviews is those that can't use forums in a normal manner, or people that turns away from the application the minute they encounter a obstacle. There might also be those that's not even tried the application before they give bad reviews.

    Hmmm, seems a lot of people equate their lack of forum etiquette with the quality of a program.

    I've been involved with this app for years and am active in the forums there. I've not seen people censored or ignored except in cases where they are quite stupid/obnoxious/childish.

    I also see many give their "garbage" or "other apps are much better" with nothing more to back it up.

    Likely the same lucid style used to post in the support forums and wonder why nobody jumps to help them.
