The best and only one of it's kind.

If you read/scan multiple feeds and want to aggregate feeds by content (not by site!), then this gem is a must-have.

Been using for the past couple of versions and can't make this crash.

I run this with 14 different windows, 5 different Klip types and more than 100 different feeds.

A real time saver!

One of my must-have programs. Can't say enough good things about it. I only wish there was a paid version for individual users (only corporate packages atm) :/

Can't give this a good rating. Very nice to look at initially. Very polished interface. The problem is that it's just not stable enough when used in certain ways. I've tried this program over the years and came back to it recently. Couldn't remember why I didn't like it. I started fiddling, installed a couple of klips and really liked it. I turned it into an auto-hiding bar locked on the left of my screen. Worked fine. Rebooted computer, worked fine for a while, then all of a sudden it wouldn't pop out, or it was empty.. reboot machine, program autostarted but without bar on left OR systray icon (I could see a phantom exe running via taskmanager though, had to endtask it and it worked when restarted) Some other oddities started happening after that. Unlatched from left of screen and found a couple of klips had just disappeared. Options for size weren't consistently being saved either. I think the interface is simply trying to be a bit too ambitious with the sliding popout this and that. Like the iPhone, it's trying to hide everyday functionality behind a pretty facade, and it just doesn't work for me (2gb, core2duo, ATI 3870 card so it's not my hw at fault). On the other hand, GreatNews is awesome as a feedreader. Can't recommend Klipfolio, sorry. Maybe if you're not a power user and just want one or two klips. I had about ten that I was testing, including the Fileforum one. Pity because it seems to be a cool idea..

Amazing stuff. Helps me stay on top of news, blogs, and everything else. I wish they offered a Pro version with some of the features of the Enterprise edition.

Ergo reviewed v5.0 Build 5900-3 Beta on Aug 28, 2008

The main idea of KlipFolio is very good considering that more and more ppl have wide monitors with 1900x1200 resolution and thus have possibility to allocate space for the sidebar with different information. I could give 5 stars for KlipFolio but I had to put just 4 because all Klips for KlipFolio are lop-sided - RSS Feeds or their clones to show different news.

I could not find klip that could show my current clipboard content and analog clocks. No good clip to show quick launch bar. Clip to manage WinAmp is not good and must be improved. No klips to manage alternate mp3-players. But I'm sure that with time we will see more super-klips for KlipFolio (not just yet another klip to show random Flickr photo) and then I will put my 5 stars unhesitatingly.

Tao2005: What did your remars about the price meant? I mean, since the Personal version is free, I assume you meant the Enterprise edition. How much is it? Coz I'd sure as hell would buy it.

Intelligent people will check the website to see the full range of klips that ARE available - overwhelming for many. This is one of the slickest and most flexible sidebar type progs around. Considering what it does it is definitely not heavy on resources. Runs beautifully on my 9 year old P3/XP.

Excellent as always. Well, as I said before: even though FeedDemon is great and all, but I just don't have time to open the application and read complete rss when I can save time and skim through using KlipFolio. Bottom line: amazing time saver!

So if you have a couple of feeds and time to read them AND you want to read them IN your rss reader (not in the browser) then I'd suggest FeedDemon. If on the other hand you got a ton of feeds with a million updates, then KlipFolio is THE reader for you!

This is Beta C of v5 (as in there was A and B before).

Also, I love the autoscroll feature. It works nicely with the weather Klip. Awesome!!! I can't really say it, you have to try it for yourself.

Best for people who dont have time to read all the rss, but rather catch the headlines and read selectively.

Btw, BETA B out already: http://www.klipfolio.com...um/viewtopic.php?t=3294

halc

halc reviewed v4.0.1 Build 5896-6 on Aug 11, 2007

This is the best for people who:

- have tons of RSS feeds and can't read them all (must scan)
- don't want to read feeds by their source, but want to group various feeds from various sources to a single window that displays headlines from all those sources sorted by time (not sorted by source)

- want a small, screen-estate efficient and functional ticker

What it is missing:

1) highlighting by keywords
2) filtering by keywords
3) removal of duplicates (by content, by final source URL)

I hope they continue improving it.

Most other RSS readers are designed by morons into a SDI interface that is very slow, cumbersome and inefficient to use for those of us that scan tons of feeds.

Very cool little app if you dig RSS stuff. The multi-day weather forcast is well done. Simple but effective and less focus on graphics than the actual info.

I like how simple it is to choose where you want it docked or if you want it floating, and also to resize elements of it. Convenient and flexible.

Seemed snappy as heck too. Good early effort.

I can't get it to open my browser (default to firefox)... when I click any type of feed, it just doesn't open anything, and the same when I tried to tell it to use IE. Also feeds added via their website look a little odd (maybe it's by design) they are confined to a small square box instead of being full-width.

Otherwise it looks like a pretty solid app.

Diam0nd

Diam0nd reviewed v4.0 Build 5896-4 Beta C on Feb 9, 2007

Great reader. #2 after FeedDemon, if you ask me. Definately a 5-star app!

The new sidebar is nice, as is the "klipstrip" (a top or bottom bar). They've revamped the options window and added some new animations .. and that's about it.
They just seemed to call it 4.0 because it sounded so much cooler than 3.2.
Don't get me wrong, I like the program, but adding a whole new version number is silly.
Since it's beta it's kinda unstable and will often use 70-80% CPU and do a ridiculous amount of IO transactions. What's it reading and writing? I don't get it.
It'll be a nice program when it's finished. Right now? Not so much.

urbanriot reviewed v3.1 Build 5890-24 on Sep 8, 2006

5 stars for the idea of the software.
1 star for how often it crashes.

What a great effort... i'm in love with this gem.
(and dear Zoroaster: no not every1 is like you... fortunately).

Offers unlimited joy both to regular users and developers. Can't believe that making a klip/widget can be that easy. But you don't have to make any, their Klip Farm has hundreds of em and so easy to use/setup.

The developer site has tonnes of info and to tell you the truth, reading their info cleared a lot of confusion i had about xml.

Thank you Serence Inc. xoxoxo

Zoroaster

Zoroaster reviewed v3.0 Beta C on Feb 22, 2006

Why has this version been on beta stage since so long? Because with the development of integrated news feeders, Klipfolio's concept is over. Nice look, but useless. Most of us use a complete news agregator and/or a browser-integrated reader.

How did I miss this? I've searched for RSS-clients before.. Exactly the way I want RSS, the plugins' interface just add power.

Multiple windows, move all at one time, customize a single window. Hide them, display them, whatever you want.

Get it. This is the RSS-client to have.

Very cool app! It's nice that it's so small and easy to use. It doesn't get in the way on my desktop yet it gives me useful information. :) I reckon it'll be truly great once there are loads and loads of klips available for download. There's lots of potential for cool graphics or skins or something, too. Good work, guys!
