Desktop Search Lookeen - a good program, even with its flaws. I'll start with the cons: it's not available for mac, the first index takes an eternity and some minor options don't seem to work e.g. changing the picture options (Zoom, Complete etc.) in the preview. The good thing is: nothing of that is really important.
Lookeen is a fine programm for searching mails and files. the mail search is especially useful when you had non contact since some time or want to remember some details written in some other mail. the filesearch is good, when I need some documents from my harddrive immediately - just click on it in the search window and you can open it directly.
Especially for office work recommendable.

Lookeen is a great search tool. Search-as-you-type, edit in preview, network search and all these data-types, are just some of the features that I love about this product. Helps me finish the daily email flood in no time.

After downloading Lookeen, it was quite easy to install. The program is easy to use with an nice user interface. The search is working as expected and provides all the results i need. A really smart feature is the preview function that enables to work on files directly in Lookeen. The only negative aspect is that Lookeen is not for free and you only get free trial for two weeks.

Lookeen Desktop Search is a search program for the desktop and for outlook. It claims to find mails and files very fast and reliable and advertises itself with it’s features.
After my test I’m convinced that Lookeen, despite it’s minor flaws, is a great software for searching files on my PC. The search is definitely fast and it turns up the results I was looking for. Very comfortable is the full text search – I don’t have to know the name of a text file or the subject of a mail, I can just search for a word within these files. That google-like aspect is something I favor.
The edit-in-preview feature is also very nice.
Its flaw is that Lookeen takes quite a time to do the initial index, but after that, it doesn’t take long at all to keep the index up-to-date.
All in all, it’s a good solid program, but the initial index should be accelerated.

After using Lookeen as my search engine for the past few months I have to say that can't live without it anymore.
- Fast search results
- Edit in preview, e.g. without opening the doc in word.
- Network drive search
To sum it up, it just finds what I'm looking for!
