Also need the Service Packs.

SP1 - https://www.microsoft.co...ad/details.aspx?id=6276

SP2 - https://www.microsoft.co...ad/details.aspx?id=9774

SP2 requires XP SP2 / 2003 SP 2. According to that page, it theoretically can be installed directly over XML Core RTM.

The only disappointing thing about this release is that they no longer support "replace"-mode, which was used to supplant the versionless program ids in applications. The primary benefit in the 3.0 release, was addition of XSLT support to Internet Explorer, which made XML and XSLT prototyping much easier. With the XSLT performance improvements (4x - 8x), and bug-fixes to XSLT, I would have been very happy to have this as the "default" parser in IE. But with all the additions, XML Schema 1.0 Validation and (SOM) Support, and SAX2, this is a significant release.

Pros: Good for Xp / Server 2003. Old post to be added 12+ years later lol.

Cons: Bad for anything newer

Bottom Line: Also need the Service Packs.
