Publisher's Description

Mozilla Thunderbird is a redesign of the Mozilla mail component. The goal is to produce a cross platform stand alone mail application using the XUL user interface language. The intended customer is someone who uses Mozilla Firefox (or another stand alone browser) as their primary browser and wants a mail client based on mozilla that "plays nice" with the browser.

Wait for them to fix lightning.

v52.0 is the shot in the arm this app needed. So much faster than 45.x series. Running the latest SQLite 3.17.0 version to reduce CPU usage, compiled by VS2015U3, gobs of bug fixes and performance improvements. Nothing will help you if your Inbox has 10 million messages though. You can't fix stupid.

great email client but to block a email is more work then it needs to be, how about right click on message and have the option to delete/block all from sender !

Testing 38.0 beta6 build 2. Much faster than 33 and all the autofill issues I had are gone. Nice that they bundled Lightning Calendaring into Thunderbird finally.

Fixed some of the annoying bugs related to autofill and autocomplete, but not all of them. Still needs some fixing but coming along ok.

Ok, am not sure what changes have been implemented with this release, but as long as it still works, and I know where everything is at, fine with me.

21...?? I thought they were stopping Thunderbird at 17.

Yet another version, I'm really glad all my software don't go into beta & a new final every month as I would have little time to use my PC's - Good client but stupid update system. So 5 stars for the program 1 for the beta's ~

Just make the next update to version 500, then you will be hundreds of iterations ahead of all your rivals Mozilla!. Then stop effing updating the version number ever week, its annoying!!

Pros: Lightning is updated & fixed for the Thunderbird v56 b1 build. The latest Thunderbird, Lightning and Gdata Provider versions are always posted first in the official Mozilla repository:

Thunderbird (Candidates or Nightly directory):
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/

Lightning & Gdata (Candidates or Nightly directory):
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/calendar/lightning/

Cons: glitchy nightly & x64 builds, stick with beta x32 channel

Bottom Line: Always download from the official repository for the latest builds.

Pros: If you don't need calendar functionality, sure.

Cons: Lightning is broken in this version and caused me to have to revert back to 55b2.

Bottom Line: Wait for them to fix lightning.

New versions with few changes, I use Thunderbird in Linux daily & love it but the constant updates with few changes are annoying.

This version (14) breaks some extensions that I rely on. Plus the changes actually make it less user-friendly and configurable than the 3.x versions released a while back.

Now that Mozilla has basically abandoned the product and also stop working on the Add-On / Extension sites for Thunderbird, many of the programmers who wrote those Add-On / Extensions have declared that they will no longer update their work, some in protest of the drop of resources devoted to Thunderbird. Some stopped updating their Add-On / Extensions about the time they did the rapid updates because every release required those programmers to update the things every time.

Thunderbird looks like it's going to be an abandoned product, which means I'm just going to stick with version 3.x and the Quote extension I use (Quote Color, etc)

Version 14 is a no go. I'm very let down by all of these issues.

I like thunderbird and rate it 5 stars usually but this beta sucks. The tabs look bad in explorer classic. They removed the instabird chat features that were around in TB14 nightly and daily.

For Firenze and Hilbert, no need for your spam reviews here. Thunderbird by far is the best email client still available. You guys go back to your windows ME pc's and enjoy whatever crappy email client you use.

Becky looks like something from the '60s and you pay $40 for that?! Yuck!

Thunderbird is free and has great addons to enhance the experience.
Stable too!
